Hi there, We had our post-pre-release event on the weekend and to begin with I must say that it is an excellent set IMO. However we did have 1 question that resulted from the day. That was, can you use the Spike-Thrower at close range if used with a Projectile card? Projectile [KMW:C] Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Celerity [cel] Strike: 1R damage or make a ranged weapon strike. This strike cannot be dodged. [CEL] As above, with an additional strike. I can't quote Spike-Thrower since there is no card text up, and I'm at work without my cards, but it does say may not be used at close range. I ruled that you may not use the Projectile + Spike-Thrower combo given the Spike-Thrower's text, however I did promise the player that I would ask the question. Was I right in my interpretation?

Only usable at long range. Only usable once each round. If any damage from this strike is succesfully inflicted on an opposing vampire, that vampire does not untap as normal on his or her next untap phase. > I ruled that you may not use the Projectile + Spike-Thrower combo given > the Spike-Thrower's text, however I did promise the player that I would > ask the question. Was I right in my interpretation? I'd say you were right. Projectile adds the "cannot be dodged" condition, but lacks card text that would remove any restrictions of the main ranged strike. One must assume that such restrictions remain in place, even with the use of Projectile. DaveZ Atom Weaver
