I purchased many boxes of Jyhad years back and still have all my cards from
the original edition(thousands of cards). Is there still a market to sell
these cards? If so, would someone email dart...@earthlink.net with
information on how I might sell the cards.
Thanks,

Jyhad has no card limits like Magic. A comlete set is generally one of
each card. Try eBay maybe. If you give a comprehensive list of the
cards someone is bound to buy them. By the way, don't those cards
belong to your roommate, or did he leave them on purpose?

No.
You can buy unopened boxes of Jyhad boosters for less
than $15 a box.
Specific individuals might be interested in completing
collections or helping those in their area get started,
but you will not get a lot of money back for the cards
that you have.
-There are NO cards that are restricted to 1 or any
other type of card limit in Jyhad. (in response to Tim's
description of what he considers a "complete" set that
I snipped.)

Really? Just because they're Jyhad-backed instead of V:tES? I always
thought it was pretty weak that WotC changed the name of the game (due
to the associations of the word "Jyhad" to contemporary Middle-East
conflicts, right?), and my friends that play and I personally haven't
bought any of the V:tES-backed basic set cards because of this. I did
notice that on your website you say you don't accept Jyhad-backed cards,
but I never realized that their value in general suffers because of it.
I guess M:tG Alpha edition cards are worth less because they aren't
tournament legal (the corners are cut differently). Are Jyhad-backed
cards not tournament legal?

What do V:teS boxes sell for on average?

Wow! That _was_ something of a mistake, seeing as M:tG was already
becoming a big thing and Jyhad was brand new. With the difference in
demand, a third edition Magic pack (15 cards) sells for almost as much
as a Jyhad BOX!
There is an incredible number of them floating

Yes. There has always been a surplus of Jyhad-backed cards.
You have been able to buy boxes of Jyhad for 10-15 dollars
a box for the last 2+ years.
VTES prices have remained stable at 50-60 dollars per box.
Sabbat prices have risen back up to 75-85 dollars per box.
> Are Jyhad-backed cards not tournament legal?
Yes, they are legal, and over-abundant. That is why
there is no secondary card market for Jyhad backed cards.

Because the name wasn't descriptive enough, according to WotC.
People/players would see 'Jyhad' and not immediately think "Oh, a
game about vampires".

They are tournament legal [DCI rules 2.1.1]

WotC said that publicly but it was due at least in part to the concern
about offending Middle-Eastern cultures. Kathy Ice posted a long
letter from Peter Adkison in the newsgroups about it. I'm amazed you
don't remember that.

I disagree. Having card backs that don't match the card backs printed on
all the expansions is certainly a disadvantage for them, at least in some
peoples' eyes. How much of a disadvantage is debatable. (And not to dispute
your point about the Jyhad printing being terrifically large and its
inevitable effect on prices.)

I remember that. The official reason for the name change remains
the "brand identification" thing, though.

Yes, (here comes the debateable part ;-) but that effect is minimized nicely
by game mechanics. With the high rate of card flow inherent to the "play
one card, and draw to replace immediately" mechanic of V:tES, knowing what
the next card on the top of yoru deck is has very infrequent value within
the game, thus minimizing "marked deck" problems (if that's what you were
getting at).

And, of course, one shouldn't forget other reasons as well. Come on, could
you really think about White Wolf -related game which had a name which
wasn't called "Something: The Something"...
...still waiting for Mermaid: The De-hydration...
