(LSJ) Gift of bellona + change of target

hi ! still trying to find crazy combos with the !salubri... Wolf (superior valeren) tries to equip with a banshee ironwail. random tzimisce intercepts. wolf plays gift of bellona superior. i then put banshee on him before combat. wolf then plays change of target. Since both cards are played before combat, he untaps, but has the banshee on him. is this combo legal or is there some hidden factor ? card texts for reminder : Gift of Bellona [VAL] Only usable when an action to equip with a weapon from your hand is blocked. Before combat begins, equip this vampire with the weapon instead of placing it in your ash heap (pay cost as normal). During the first round of this combat, that weapon cannot be used. Change of Target Only usable when this acting minion is blocked (play before combat, if any). Untap the acting minion, do not tap the blocking minion, and end the current action (it is not successful). This minion cannot perform the same action again this turn.
