Chanjelin Ward says "This vampire can burn this card to cause an action directed at him or her to fail." The acting minion doesn't pay any costs for an action that fails, right? My reading of the rulebook implies that this is the case, but it's only explicitly stated in terms of actions that fail because they're blocked rather than failing for some other reason. Thanks, Josh believes in miracles

[ quoted text not captured ] Right. Explicit: "The action's cost ... is only paid if the action succeeds" [6.2.3] -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Links to revised rulebook, rulings, errata, and tournament rules: http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/

The cost is only paid on successful resolution. "If the action is successful (all block attempts were unsuccessful), then the cost of the action is paid, and the effects of the successful action take place." [6.2.3] Since it failed (Chanjelin Ward), you don't pay. You do, of course, remain tapped, however. -- James Coupe You remind me of the babe. What babe? PGP 0x5D623D5D The babe with the power. But the "(all block attempts were unsuccessful)" and "the cost is not paid if the action is blocked" phrases had me a little unsure. :-) thanks again, Josh it tears the moon and sun apart
