Hi,
Is it possible to cycle aim-card from your hand even if you're not
allowed to strike with it?
example,
player A: maneuver from Aid from Bats
player B: cancel maneuver with Flash
-determine range phase ends-
player B: plays Immortal Grapple
Is Aid from Bats still considered to be A's strike and therefore be
legal target to play Target Vitals for example, even when there is no
way he can use the strike (not allowed by Immortal Grapple)? This
would be done in the sake of cycling hand.
Is the Aid from Bats your chosen strike even if you're not allowed
to use it?
Thanks in advance!

Aid from Bats
ani: Strike: 1R damage, with an optional maneuver.
ANI: As above, with an optional press.
>>
<<
Immortal Grapple
Only usable at close range before strikes are chosen. Grapple.
pot: Strikes that are not hand strikes may not be used this round (by
either combatant).
A vampire may play only one Immortal Grapple each round.
POT: As above, with an optional press. If another round of combat
occurs, that round is
at close range; skip the determine range step for that round.

Target Leg
Aim. Play when choosing a strike.
The opposing minion may discard two combat cards to cancel this
card.
If any damage from this strike is successfully inflicted on the
opposing minion,
he or she may use maneuvers or presses only if they require
Obfuscate, Thaumaturgy
or Flight this action. A minion may play only one aim each strike.

You have to play an aim card at the moment you choose your strike/play
your strike. Pretty sure it`s even before you replace your card.
So in your scenario, the moment player B plays flash it`s too late to
play target vitals.

If you have no strike, no, since you aren't "choosing a strike" as
required by Target.

No. Aid from Bats was used to maneuver, but the strike is not chosen
until the choose strikes step.
At that step, A's choice is limited to Aid from Bats (by maneuvering
with it) and is limited to hand strikes (by Immortal Grapple), so A
has no valid choice for a strike and therefore does not choose a
strike.

No. If you cannot use it, you cannot choose it, and therefore it is
not your strike.

Nah, you play Target Vitals when choosing a strike. You choose a strike in
the strike declaration phase, not in the maneuver phase. It's just that
because you used Aid From Bats to maneuver you have to choose Aid from bats
as a strike. It's also perfectly legal to play a strike card, replace it
with a Target Vitals and use it on the strike you just played.
As for the question, I'd say you can't play Target Vitals in this scenario.
Grapple says "can only use handstrike" and since you can only declare an Aid
from Bats strike, you don't choose a strike at all and thus there is nothing
to play TV on.

No. You play the aim card when you choose your strike in the choose
strike step.
