SPANISH CHAMPIONSHIP 2007 Event date: 22nd of July 2007 City: Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona) Country: Spain :) Organizer: Marco Cortijo Number of players: 64 A lot of players gathered last Sunday to play the LCQ for the Spanish Championship, including our dear Bram Vink, from the Netherlands ;-) who qualified the day before. The seating in the final was: Abel Tomasetti (Camarilla weenie vote deck with 1st Traditions) -> Ginés Quiñonero (???) -> Tomàs López (Kiasyd S&B deck) -> Fran Martinez (War Ghoul deck) -> Noel Gimenez (Rock Cat deck) -> The weenie vote deck put a lot of pressure on his prey (Ginés) and also put 2 First Traditions in play. The Rock Cart deck and Ginés managed to oust the weenie vote deck, but that took too long and the game timed out since no one else wanted to move forward. So the winner of the Spanish Championship is Noel Giménez. In this tournament, Noel qualified for the Continental Championships, and both Noel and Tomàs López had their plane tickets to Gothenburg (EC 2007) paid as a prize for being 1st and 2nd, respectively. Secondly: Ok, I'll ask the obvious question here: What the hell kind of deck was (???) Is it the big secret tech being kept top secret for the EC? Or you were just too drunk and claim you don't remember? You can tell me anyway, I can't make it to Sweden (again, qualified, but real life prohibits me from showing up), and I promise to keep it a secret /Jo

It was a 90 library card deck. And the crypt consisted of 12 vampires ;-) > Is it the big secret tech being kept top secret for the EC? > Or you were just too drunk and claim you don't remember? It's "secret" tech for the EC :-) > You can tell me anyway, I can't make it to Sweden (again, qualified, > but real life prohibits me from showing up), and I promise to keep it > a secret Drop by the #vtes IRC channel and I'll show you my deck. [ quoted text not captured ] Agreed. Doesn't seem fair to reveal everyone else's tech and not yours (Damnans). best - chris -- Super Fun Cards http://stores.ebay.com/superfuncards/ auct...@superfuncards.com

It seems fair to reveal the tech of the players who don't mind it being revealed and withhold (for a few weeks) the tech of the players who do. It would also be fair to reveal all tech, too, of course.

[ quoted text not captured ] Ok , I must say it for the fairness of everything Damnans was playing on Last chance, Mata hari couriers with vermin channel tech and grandest trick... on Championship, Eze clan impersonating to malkavian and using madness network. Of course, the combo was in order to play procurers and rush with them. Sorry, damnans, I had to tell them.

Bram Vink

[ quoted text not captured ] Goddamit.. and anthony revealed my tech in the LCQ thread :S Fuckers. It was supposed to stay a secret till the EC. :P Cheers, B

Here is the best large tournament prize. Free transportation to another larger event. This was tried last year with the US Nationals, but the US National champion was unable to fly to the North American Continental Championships. (He did drive down, with the whole family.) I don't know that it motivated people to change decks, and it was announced prior to the events starting. Carpe noctem.
