quick question, as far as i can tell this card (tomb of rameses) is played on a vampire in your crypt area. any transfer to any vampire in your crypt is matched by the blood bank... this is a bit much.... I would think a better rule would be all transfers to this vampire are matched by the blood bank would make it a fair card ?? what do you think ?? scott ??? -- Andy m

Andy, you wrote: l this card (tomb of rameses) is played on a vampire in your crypt area. any transfer to any vampire in your crypt is matched by the blood bank... this is a bit much.... It would only be marginally useful for huge vamps, costs a master phase in addition, and is vulnerable to arson, etc. I like the card ALOT. Can you tell? The problem with Tomb of Rameses is that, unfortunately, It's broken. In a deck which uses large vampires(and any deck with Tombs in it is given free reign to weight it's crypt towards the high end without much fear of repercussions) is given a great advantage. It's the only card in the game which lets you get the equivalent of up to eight blood and 11 transfers for _free_. Playing it on a large vampire gives you a real pool advantage and vampire advantage..and speed advantage too. I've noticed that although the tomb itself never directly broke any games around here, it's effects have been rather extreme; a number of decks which were otherwise less than viable became up to par, and an already nauseating Malkavian/Tremere Bleed deck became all but unstoppable. Anyway, I'm ranting. The proposed version is NOT wallpaper; even if it only matches the blood you paid, it still brings the vampire out twice as fast. And if you've ever seen a quick deck work effectively, you'll know that it does make a difference.

It costs 3 blood, can be contested (and has been in our games), and is vulnerable to Memory's Fading Glimpse. Whomever gets it out first, yes, generally gets a vicious head start but it has another thing going for it: Weenie decks can't use it. Anything that encourages the use of big vampires is ok in my books.

This would bring much more in line with, say, Info Highway. Perhaps even make it weaker than the Highway. If you adopt this house rule, I'd suggest reducing the cost to one (or possibly two). Or leave it at three and allow it to me moved to another uncontrolled vampire when it's target becomes controlled. -- L. The card does two very useful things: -- it gives you effectively twice as many transfers, for as long as it's in play. Much better than Information Highway. -- It lets you transfer on blood from the blood bank instead of from your own pool. Either one of these effects are very good, both together are way too much. The card should be amended to read either: For each blood counter you transfer to an uncontrolled vampire during your influence phase, you may move one blood counter from your pool to this vampire. or For each blood counter you transfer to an uncontrolled vampire during your influence phase, you may spend one transfer to put one counter from the blood bank on this vampire. Either one of these is enough, IMO. -- Tom Doehne

The way I've seen this card used in one group was, after playing this card onto a vampire and receiving the free blood, part of the transfer phase was used to transfer this blood to pool. This when combined with Info. Highway obviously creates one more pool factory (akin to Blood Dolls and such). I think this is probably a bit too powerful for the cost of the card (and rarity since it is not a card that will most likely become contested). I would probably like to see a ruling (house or otherwise) which would prohibit the transferring of any blood not gained through the normal transfer phase process (this would also affect "Dreams of the Sphinx" in that sense). All other aspects of this card, I like way too much for words to convey!
