"Choose a controlled vampire; put a disease counter on him or her if he or she does not have one. Each time a vampire with a disease counter is in combat at close range with another vampire, the second vampire gets a counter as well. An afflicted vampire cannot gain blood by hunting. When an afflicted vampire untaps, he or she burns a blood, or, if unable, loses all disease counters." I put a disease counter on my Ezmerelda. She bums rushes Emerson Bridges, and gives him one of her disease counters. When she freak drives and ambushes him, can he pick up another disease counter? When he untaps will he lose 2? Does this only apply to the untap phase, or if Emerson happens to play second tradition? will he also have to burn 2? Aaron

No. An afflicted vampire only burns one blood each untap (for the disease). > Does this only apply to the untap phase, or if Emerson happens to play > second tradition? will he also have to burn 2? It applies every time the vampire untaps, per card text. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. The answer is in your card text:" ... put a disease counter on him or her if he or she does not have one..."

[ quoted text not captured ] That particular segment of text is only relative to the playing of the card. Obviously it is somehow possible to get more disease counters, otherwise there would be no "lose *all* disease counters" clause. Since 'afflicted' isn't really a state defined by the rules I was just wondering what the effect was. I imagine if it had been worded to read "when the vampire with this counter untaps, he or she burns a blood" that it would then be cumulative? Aaron
