Thrall of Madness Action Modifier dem + dom +2 bleed DEM + DOM +3 bleed

John Flournoy

[ quoted text not captured ] Right, because Dementation and Dominate need more, more powerful ways to bleed people? :P -John Flournoy

[ quoted text not captured ] As long as it has the no-more-modifiers clause, which I'll assume Norm was left out by mistake, it's not really a more powerful way to bleed, it's just Conditioning without the blood cost. The Dem/Dom combination could use something. At present, when a vampire has both disciplines one or the other is superfluous.

That's exactly right. I was looking at how to increase the usefulness of overlap disciplines > The Dem/Dom combination could use something. At present, when a > vampire has both disciplines one or the other is superfluous. Exactly, and there are quite a few vampires who have this combination.

[ quoted text not captured ] Having a Dem + Dom card is good. The reason not to do bleed is because it's redundant to what is readily available. It's like giving Qui + Pot a strike only usable at long range. Since there aren't likely to be more than a few D&D cards, might as well make ones that are interesting.

Vitae Fastball cost x qui + pot: 2r + x only usable at long range if this minion. This damage may not be prevented QUI + POT: 3r + 2x only usable at long range. This damage may not be prevented Wheel of Judgement qui + tha; 2r only usable at long range, this damage may not be prevented. This vampire gains an amount of blood equal to the amount lost by the opposing vampire to damage during this round QUI + THA as above but 4r

[ quoted text not captured ] Insensible Direction Reaction aus+dom - Reduce a bleed by 2 AUS+DOM- Only usable when a minion is bleeding you after blocks are declined. Choose another Methuselah other than the controller of the acting minion. The acting minion is now bleeding that Methuselah. Depths of Despair obf + obt - +2 stealth not usable on a bleed action OBF + OBT- +2 stealth and any minion attempting to block you must burn a blood Dynamic Flesh vic + pro - For the remainder of the round, this vampire's hand damage is aggravated. VIC + PRO - +1 stealth and +1 bleed Striking Serpent cel + ser - for the remainder of this combat this vampire strikes with first strike CEL + SER- Strike: Combat Ends and this vampire may burn 1 blood to continue this action at +1 stealth

Do you seriously think that we would need to make Dominate a *better* discipline than it already is? (IMHO I think making Dominate the best bleed discipline as well as the best bounce discipline was the worst mistake the original design team made.) HG

Because Dominate needs more and better bounce. :-P Sure, why would you not want to make AUS/DOM minions be able to work better than DOM or AUS minions. > Come on now! Do you seriously think that we would need to make Dominate a > *better* discipline than it already is? You aren't making Dominate a better discipline, you are making aus/dom and AUS/DOM better.

Blooded Sand

[ quoted text not captured ] Which is the same exact thing in far too many cases as to be worthwhile. about 85 too many....

XZealot

[ quoted text not captured ] What does AUS/DOM do now that is so good? I dont' see it tearing up the tournament lists

Juggernaut1981

Following from the example of Keystone Kine... Deeper Blackness of Night Action Mod aus/obf/obt This card may be used with multiple disciplines, their benefits stack. If this card is used with obf, the blocking minion has -1 intercept If this card is used with obt, the acting minion has +1 stealth If this card is used with aus, blocking minions must burn 1 blood after they successfully block and before combat. Overwhelming Madness Reaction 1 blood dem/dom Only usable when a minion is bleeding you. This card may be used with multiple disciplines, their benefits stack. If this card is used at dem, the acting minion must burn 1 blood to continue the action. If this card is used at dom, the acting minion is now bleeding their prey. Vital Anger Combat 1 blood pot/qui/tha/val This card may be used with multiple disciplines, their effects stack. Strike: hand strike. pot: +1 damage qui: this strike is cannot be dodged tha: you steal 1 blood from the opposing minion during strike resolution val: you may use a melee weapon as if it was a hand strike

[ quoted text not captured ] I assume these are all anarch cards. They seems fun except for the last one which is a little powerful with Ian Forrestal

Juggernaut1981

[ quoted text not captured ] > last one which is a little powerful with Ian Forrestal- Hide quoted text - > > - Show quoted text - Actually I'd like to see this mechanic appear for non-anarch cards. I think that the last card, while powerful, is probably not really "out of the ballpark" even with Ian Forrestal (but Ian Forrestal the Anarch is about as broken as Ian can manage in general) Fluid Flesh Combat 1 blood pro/qui/tha/vic Only usable before range is chosen on the first round of combat. Usable with multiple disciplines, their benefits stack. pro: if this vampire is ready they may burn 1 blood to untap qui: the opposing minion burns 1 blood after strike resolution tha: optional maneuver vic: cancel 1 grapple card as it is played. Unstoppable Action Modifier 1 blood cel/for/pot/pro Not usable on a bleed action. Usable with multiple disciplines, their benefits stack. cel: +1 stealth for: blocking minions burn 1 blood before combat pot: you may burn 1 blood to deal 1 damage to a blocking minion before combat pro: if this action is blocked it ends before combat begins Maddening Illusions Action 1 blood chi/dem/obt Usable with multiple disciplines, their benefits stack. Choose a vampire controlled by your predator or prey. This card burns during your next untap phase. chi: tap that minion. dem: the minion with this card cannot act other than to hunt. obt: the minion with this card cannot strike during combat.

Blooded Sand

[ quoted text not captured ] Not AUS DOM, but just good old DOM who happen to have AUS too. You really wanna give Malks access to free conditionings?

Salem

[ quoted text not captured ] Ian can only fake 1 discipline at a time, so i don't see how it'd be much of a problem. He can just use it at tha+one other. -- salem (replace 'hotmail' with 'gmail' to email)

XZealot

[ quoted text not captured ] Huh? The Aus Dom card is a reaction card. The Dem Dom card is the free conditioning, I have no problem with giving Dem Dom access to free conditioning

XZealot

[ quoted text not captured ] It would be pretty cool for Ian to have a reason to retain an Infernal Familiar.

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Perhaps, but the above card would not be such a reason. http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/3d4aa6e913ee7940

XZealot <xze...@cox.net> writes: [ quoted text not captured ] Conditioning that's not only free, but also *stacks* with other bleed boost cards, you mean: > Thrall of Madness > Action Modifier > dem + dom +2 bleed > DEM + DOM +3 bleed It has the same template as superior Command of the Beast and double superior Quicksilver Contemplation. It would be quite legal to play both your Thrall of Madness and Conditioning in the same action, as long as you played Thrall first. HG

Blooded Sand

[ quoted text not captured ] Worse, you could bleed with GtU, play Thrall of madness, command the beast and then conditioning for a bleed of 10. ouch...

XZealot

[ quoted text not captured ] This has already been covered above. XZealot <xze...@cox.net> writes: [ quoted text not captured ] OK, if you just left out the "do not play other bleed modifiers" clause by mistake, then it seems reasonable. HG

Orpheus

[ quoted text not captured ] Agreed on that account. The old school Malks are still seen from time to time, but the !Ventrue can use some cards, and as of now the Nagaraja seldom use their 3 disciplines. So why not... On the Dom/Dem card I'd prefer to let the +2 bleed in inferior, but to provide a totally new and more original effect in superior, more in the rage of Blessing of Chaos, Lunatic Eruption or Mind of a Child...

The original design team played with an in-house 4CL until WOTC dumped the game. They were idiots in a lot of ways.
