I can't find errata on this, and I haven't heard anything either way, so I'll ask: 1. Non-unique Masters which give "+/- X <effect>" -- is the effect cumulative? a. There are several examples, but (for example) putting multiple Contracts on someone and naming the same Assamite would seem to be OK, both in game and RPG terms. b. Strangely (IMHO), Army of Rats isn't cumulative, but Betrayer and Weather Control *are* cumulative. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I am could explain these kinds of cards to me... Kevin J. Contract isn't exactly "cumulative" - you don't get a +2 stealth rush action for that Assamite to enter combat with the target. You *do* get two distinct rush actions, each at +1 stealth, to enter combat with the target. That duplication could be utilized by untapping after the first rush action and taking the second rush action. > b. Army of Rats (and Torn Signpost for that matter) wasn't intended to be cumulative. The most recent card text is explicitly non-cumulative. So it isn't cumulative. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Links to revised rulebook, rulings, errata, and tournament rules: http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/

Army of Rats does damage to your prey's pool, unblockable and unbounceable. Untidy, especially if you have multiple small minions with ANI who keep putting a new Army out every turn. If it were cumulative, it would be a Very Wrong Thing. Betrayer requires you to have a duplicate of your prey's vampire in your uncontrolled region. Unless you are playing the Betrayer deck (an unwieldy proposition, to say the least - shuffling 300+ vampires sort of blows), these circumstances are highly unlikely, and the Betrayer can be detected fairly quickly. Weather Control does damage to your OWN vampire as well, so going crazy with the cumulative aspect just puts both of you in torpor. Ben Peal's 60-Weather Control deck was amusing, and I believe it actually got a few VPs, but it's hardly a threat to win every game. =) -- Derek "Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge." - C. Army of Rats specifically isn't cumulative. As a minion card, multiple could be played a turn and it formed one of the first "abusive" decks when played non-cumulative. Betrayer is a master card and so requires a lot of master phases to abuse, and the vampire there. Legbiter's Betrayer deck uses it to good effect, but is vulnerable. Weather Control deals damage to both vampires, and damage to vampires is less worrysome than direct damage to pool. -- James Coupe | PGP Key 0x5D623D5D | ja...@zephyr.org.uk (New e-mail) "Who'd have ever predicted the moment would come when I find myself grateful they've kept women dumb?
