Hi all Last time we played we ended up with a littel argument, and hope somebody can help me out here. Vamp a, with a raptor bleeds Vamp b, wakes with a "Wake with..." Combat starts Now Vamp b may NOT replace the "Wake with..." card. And he got his hand reduced by one card coz the raptor, but dose that mean that he a) Now have an effectiv hand size of 5, and must discard a card or b) Now have an hand size of 6, which dosent bother him, since he couldent replace the wake card anyway Hope some one can clear this up :o) /Jesper

Then why why why, do we have two different terms that cover the same thing?? Why dosent Wake, Bums rush etc. "Reduce you hand size by on, for the remind of the combat" seems to me that its pretty odd that it dosent then. Maybe somnething LSJ and other should think about in the future :o) Cheers /J

[ quoted text not captured ] No, since you should then replace that card *and* discard down to your current hand size, which is an important difference. Look a t what happens for calling (and passing) the Meddling of Semsith vote for an example. Stelios > > Cheers > /J > >

Because that would be a different effect - you would play Bum's Rush and draw to replace it and then discard down to your newly-reduced hand size and then, after the action was over, you'd draw again. You've just introduced a "free" discard into the works. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Maybe > somnething LSJ and other should think about in the future :o) 'Cause some of them only last a varying, but short period of time, some last forever. Wake costs you a hand slot till the begining of your next turn ('cause Wake is balanced that way). Raptor costs you a hand slot till the end of combat ('cause that is what Raptor does). That Ventrue guy whose name I can't remember makes you lose a hand slot till he isn't ready any more. They all do the same thing in some sense (make you lose a hand slot) but for a different amount of time. If you use a Wake (-1 hand size till your next untap) and get in combat with an opponent with 2 Raptors (-2 hand size till end of combat) while that Ventrue guy is ready (-1 hand size till he is no longer ready), and are targeted by an Aggressive Tactics (-1 hand size) but you have an Elder Library (+1 hand size), you'll have a hand size of 3 till the end of combat.
