Vampire plays Martial Ritus on a younger vampire... The younger vampire plays Descent into Darkness... It's out of play till next turn... When he(she?) comes back up, the next untap has past... Those the Martial Ritus ever burn then? Same goes for : Khabar: Glory? Psychic Projection? Sleep Unseen? Sleep unseen seems too cool of a combo... =D Play decent into darkness, and if the action is successful. I would love to do this to Alexis Sorokin. Sleep unseen, play psychic projection on her.. She can dodge, and blur! Hit for 1 then Earthmeld. Just for kicks, Pulled fangs. Would need alot of Obt skill cards... But it'll be fun!

When he returns to play, there is a Martial Ritus in play with the text "During your next untap phase, burn this card." So on the next untap (assuming it doesn't leave play again), it burns. Since it was out of play during your first 'next untap', it never notices that it missed one, and triggers at the first (following) opportunity once it returns to play. > Same goes for : > Khabar: Glory? > Psychic Projection? > Sleep Unseen? The same for each (although PP burns during 'your untap phase', not even your 'next', it's still waiting for the first instance while in play.) The same general rule would hold true if you temporarily left play via other means, like being Banished. (There's rulings by LSJ on this: try searching on 'Baltimore Purge' and 'out of play'.) > > Sleep unseen seems too cool of a combo... =D > > Play decent into darkness, and if the action is successful. If the DiD action succeeds, she's out of play and can't play Sleep Unseen. -John Flournoy

If the text on the card is always active, won't the card never burn? If I always read it as "on your next untap, burn this card"... During my supposely next untap, when I read the card... It says not to burn till my next untap, so I won't have to burn it. Won't the card text be fixed once played? And the "next untap" be a specific untap phase? There is no example in the game so far that I can think of... =/ Real world Example... You have to throw away your trash into the next bin. The next bin isn't there at the moment. That doesn't mean the following bin is where the trash should go. BP is different... It says during you untap... Not during your next untap. Baltimore Purge Type: Action Requires a ready vampire. If this vampire is Ravnos, this action is at +1 stealth. Put this card on the acting vampire. During your untap phase, burn this card, and each other Methuselah chooses a ready vampire he or she controls who is not older than this vampire. If you control a ready Lasombra, you choose the vampires instead. This vampire and the chosen vampires go to torpor. I read it as "During phase X, do Y" where X is a particular Untap Phase. If your in turn 2, once played would mean untap phase of Turn 3. But I'll hold off till I see LSJ's responce. Psychic Projection... won't work, Ok... Sleep unseen won't work I guess neither... Has to be successful first to play it, if successful then it's already out of play. Unless I take an action, untap, and then DitD. But perm Khabar: Glory? That'll be too cool...

Won't the card text be No. When you get to your (next) unatp phase, you burn it. > fixed once played? No. Effects from the play of the card are fixed when played. Effects from the card in play are evaluated when used. See Army of Rats and what happens after you oust your first prey. > And the "next untap" be a specific untap phase? > > There is no example in the game so far that I can think of... =/ When do you replace Wake? > Real world Example... > > You have to throw away your trash into the next bin. I don't understand the concept you're going for, but: Non-parallel, since apparently the first bin there is not the "next" bin. > BP is different... It says during you untap... Not during your next > untap. > > Baltimore Purge > Type: Action > Requires a ready vampire. > If this vampire is Ravnos, this action is at +1 stealth. Put this card > on the acting vampire. And since it's not optional, it occurs every untap phase that the card is in play. Like Army of Rats. > Psychic Projection... won't work, Ok... > Sleep unseen won't work I guess neither... Why not just throw your trash into whichever bin is available? Is there a chance it might get mixed in with the other trash and then you can't tell whose trash is whose? Here's a different example: I need to take the #2 bus downtown. Of course, I want the *next* #2 bus that comes along - I'm in a rush. So, I'm waiting at the bus stop. If the #2 bus comes, I get on it - I don't worry that it's no longer the "next" #2 bus once it's arrived. On the other hand, if I really have to take a pee and I run off into the nearest building, when I come out, I will wait on the bench for the *next* #2 bus. This is regardless of whether or not another #2 bus came by in the meantime. As far as I'm concerned, I didn't see if a bus passed while I was in the bathroom, so any buses that stopped then don't exist for me, and I'm still waiting for the next bus to come.
