Here's a nifty little idea I discovered a couple of weeks ago:
Cards needed:
- Soul Gem of Etrius
- Golconda-Inner Peace
Additional cards:
- Minion Tap
- Giant's Blood
- Fifth Tradition
- Information Highway
OK, here's how it works: First, construct a crypt consisting solely of
vamps with the exact same blood capacity (i.e. all 9). After you get
one out, equip him with the Soul Gem of Etrius. Make sure you have
some stealth to back you up. For the next couple of turns, you can
use Minion Tap and then either Fifth Tradition or Giant's Blood to
your heart's content. The real trick comes when you play Golconda to
burn that vamp and gain blood equal to its capacity *plus* you get to
take the top card off of your crypt and move it into your active
region completely filled up courtesy of the Soul Gem. Of course, this
vamp "inherits" the gem, so you can keep on playing Golcondas for the
rest of the game! Neat!
Bonus - Since you will most likely be using princes and/or justicars,
go ahead and toss in some Third Traditions and Progeny's so you can
have some cannon fodder. Better yet, this might turn into a twisted
weenie voter deck. Ha ha ha!!!
Warning: watch out for Sudden Reversals and Steal Equipment strikes.
Comments? Suggestions?

Someone did this sort of thing to make an IC deck, although I'm not sure he used
the Soul Gem, although he used the Gehena/Minion Tap/Giants Blood combo and the
Minion Tap/Hospitality combo. The Soul Gem (and Gehena and Giants Blood) is a
rare card, after all.
Well...It's been done from the very beginning of the game. Good idea. I
have a deck myself.

Add plenty of skill cards to upgrade the vamps and to use on the
progeny. Also use the new obfuscate card sacrificial lamb to
complement the rare Golcandas.

This cute little idea can actually be made even more nasty. Heres how:
Put Carlotta Giovani in the deck. Just now I don't recall weather or not
she has superior Nec, but in it does't matter because you will want some
skill masters anyway. As may be. After you have golconda'd a vamp, play
a possession on the poor sod. This will bring him/her back, /w one blood
if played at superior. Note that this does not mean using a Giovani deck.
If you are feeling realllly evil, toss some five traditions in as well and
watch your opponents weep.

If the vampire you pull off the crypt is of the same age as the vampire
with the Soul Gem, the vampire is placed in your uncontrolled region,
not into play (VTES card text, errata to Jyhad card text). So this trick
doesn't work, as presented. On the other hand, you could include some
discipline cards to make the vampires capacity 10+ while in play, restoring
the engine.
