Can u use the Heidelburg Castle to suck the stolen vampire out of everything before he must take the bleed action. If it is legal this can be pretty good combo. I have been thinking many ways to exploit spirit marionette / mind rape. Like playing fortitude to your preys vampires and sucking them out of blood with heidelburg, bleed with daring the dawn... There are many possibilities.

Yes. There is always a gap between actions where Heidelberg can be used. >If it is legal this can be pretty good combo. I have been thinking >many ways to exploit spirit marionette / mind rape. And if you're playing Fortitude, you can modify that action with Daring the Dawn or somesuch. Or play Rave (tapping the vampire), followed by inferior Force of Will (two aggravated damage). Or superior Force of Will and Daring the Dawn. -- James Coupe "Never give in to them," she whispered. However, the only action the vampire is empowered to do via Spirit Marionette is bleed. So, the vampire will remain untapped and unable to act until the next after action (whoever that is by) at which point the vampire returns to its true owner. This could be a way of screwing over your prey if they only have one vampire out: Play the SM on your preys only vampire, do the Heidleburg (and remove all the blood and equiptment and retainers), do NOTHING ELSE that turn, and the vampire will only go back to your prey in your grand preys' turn. > >If it is legal this can be pretty good combo. This is a common strategy at the moment in the UK, pioneered by Matt Green. You may notice in all the Crusade: Dave's House mails that Matt Green usually gets alluded to using lots of Mind Rapes. He does. At stealth. ;) > Similarly, opportunities exist with Rave. Or superior Force of Will and Daring the Dawn. There is a lot of scope with Rave, Soul Gem of Etrius, and all the new boys with For / Nec. Think about it. DH

Or superior Force of Will and Daring the Dawn. It was my understanding that mandatory actions must be taken first. So if you are required to bleed, where do you get the opportunity to play Rave? XZ

(D) Take control of any ready untapped minion until the end of the next action. That minion must bleed your prey unless he or she must hunt. I interpret this as that if the minion has to hunt hunt he will be allowed to do so and not just remained untapped and "locked". LSJ? Roger

In message <QE628.13639$Ee7.9...@e3500-atl1.usenetserver.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] Whilst the Subject: refers to Spirit Marionette, the paragraph I responded to noted: >I have been thinking >many ways to exploit spirit marionette / mind rape. Mind Rape has no such mandatory action clause. In the case of Spirit Marionette, of course, the timing means that only Heidelberg could be used since Rave would be unplayable due to that clause. If you empty a vampire, it cannot do anything. The only action the SM allows you to do is a bleed. You cannot hunt with the vampire, and since it causes a conflict of mandatory actions, it just sits there untapped, until another vampire acts and it goes back to its owner. Could be useful for a vote & bloat deck, though, since the stolen vampire could have a title, and the next action could be a vote. DH

I am Mr. Thickie and today is "National Let's Be Thick" day. I recently moved to Thicktown on Sea too. *grumble* Bloomin' card text. DH
