(i.e. gets blocked, untaps with Majesty/Earth Meld, Psyche! + Mirror Image to continue the action. Alternatively, untapping due to Rutor's Hand works as well). - Halcyan 2

I thought that the new combat (from the Psyche!) didn't count as resulting from the acting minion being blocked and thus there is no action to continue and that you'd have to play Telepathic Tracking in order to get that combo working. Is it correct that you can play Mirror Image(or FoM or the other similar cards) to continue an action during a combat resulting from a Psyche!? (Etrius + Protean Discipline + gets blocked: Earth Meld, Telepathic Tracking, Blood To Water, Form of Mist.) /Henrik

But it doesn't matter who plays the Psyche!, right? > Mirror Image has no "in the resulting combat" restriction. > The action is still there to be continued. Is any of the current cards (Form of Mist, Chameleon's Color, Toreador's Bane) restricted in that way? I can't find any errata on them, but I might as well check... I find this ruling to clash a bit with the ruling about Sniper Rifle and Psyche! (You can't set the range in the new combat) since Sniper Rifle does not have any restricting text about "the resulting combat", but I might be missing something here... > > (Etrius + Protean Discipline + gets blocked: Earth Meld, Telepathic > > Tracking, Blood To Water, Form of Mist.) > > Looks good. None of the current strikes that end combat and continue the action have a "resulting combat" restriction, no. > I find this ruling to clash a bit with the ruling about Sniper Rifle > and Psyche! > (You can't set the range in the new combat) since Sniper Rifle does > not have any restricting text about "the resulting combat", but I > might be missing something here... Sniper Rifle has a inherent "resulting combat" restriction: "If the bearer blocks an action, he or she may set the range for the first round of combat " That either means "resulting combat" or "every combat the occurs after this minion has blocked any action". Obviously, the former is the correct interpretation. [ quoted text not captured ]

Why not 'every combat that occurs during an action that he has blocked'? 'Resulting combat' is implicit, but not quite unambiguous. Flux

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Because that would require errata. Card text offers no way to arrive at such a reading without changing the card text. > 'Resulting combat' is implicit, but not quite unambiguous. As I said, yes. [ quoted text not captured ]

Other than designer intent, I don't see why should any of these be more valid: - "... he or she may set the range for the first round of [the resulting] combat" - "... he or she may set the range for the first round of [every] combat" - "... he or she may set the range for the first round of combat [during that action]" Many cards have implicit 'for this action' durations (most intercept and stealth cards, for example), so that may even seem like the most logic conclusion. That just made me realize that Eyes of Night/Spirit's Touch by card text seem to give a maneuver/press in any combat that occurs, and not only if the block is sucessful. Which must be the reason for you to change the text on Spirit's Touch for the CE :) Flux
