Confirmation: TApedness

Certain vampires may tap for a certain effect (Mariel for end combat, the new giovanni 2ptr to add+1 intercpet, etc) It is my understanding that if they are tapped, they cannot use wake/forced etc to tap and get their ability, as they do not return to an untapped state, but merely are able to play reaction cards and block as if untapped. Correct? T

However, with Guard Dogs, Rats Warning, if you were being bled, you could untap and then use teh tap effect (assuming you have at least basic animalism). With 2nd Tradition, Guard Duty and Eternal Vigilance, you untap and attempt to block. If the block fails, you are still untapped (unless you get Faceless Night-ed). None of these are much help to Murial as she starts life as a vampire with no animalism, who is not a Prince, Justicar, Archbishop, Cardinal, or Priscus. DH
