Official: Three consecutive rounds with no card played.
The Trap will provide a (single) press (to continue) each round until
three rounds pass during which no methuselah had played a card.
The Trap card itself counts as a card played, so that round is not
included in the three round count.

You resolve it immediately, but not with a damage resolution phase (no
damage prevention cards may be played, according to WotC).
The Spawning Pool may be tapped at any time during combat, and resolves
at that time.

You weren't going to torpor when you tasted, and you weren't still tasting
when you got your fangs pulled, so there's no real problem.

Especially since you can no longer prevent the one point (since strike
resolution is over by the time Fangs are Pulled).
