Groups 2 and 3 are full.
Online VTES project at CCG Workshop has been activated.
New ranking system Coming in 2 weeks.
Next expansions to be set in pre-Gehenna timeline (1999-2003).
10th Anniversary set two different sets of 100 cards, each. 90 reprints of
staple Jyhad/VTES cards with new layout and card text, and 10 new cards,
each (200 cards total). Will be packaged in SteelRook cases oversized to
fit a VTES deck (110 cards).
Announced 'Build your own Storyline' a Prince's Choice of format and plot.
If a winner also wins a Continental Championship(?) plot line gets
incorporated into a future release.
Next storyline: "The Infernal Plague" a one-shot focusing on a Baali clan
corruption plotline. Brush up your infernal decks...
February Expansion: Kindred Most Wanted, includes Red List, and at its core
focuses on the Independent clans (DZ: presumably, lots of G4)
The "Double Edge" rumor from Lotus Noir was a playtested rule (dug out of 11
year old WotC playtest notes), which didn't make the expansion, but hasn't
been abandoned, either.

Orpheus -
I think that the Sabbat were part of the VTES printing. It appears
that he simply means that ALL of the most useful cards in the game are
in the "it may be reprinted with the new layout" list. That sounds
good to me...

Really? I think there may be a little room for a few more group 2 and
group 3 vampires (ex: Bloodlines) I hope they are not completely
abandonded. :o(

Great. :o)

Glad to hear that they are finishing that. The people that actually
care about their ranking will probably be quite happy to see it (I've
never been to involved with the whole ranking thing).

Interesting... are there more details for this?

Excellent! We need a bit of a break from new expansions and the old
format mixed with the new one does look a bit odd. This is a great
way to appease a LOT of people in one move...
- Players that want the staple cards in the new format will be happy.
- People that want new cards will see enough to keep their interest.
- The folks that really want certain cards reprinted may finally get
the answers to their prayers (ex: Shadow Step)
- The SteelRook cases are pretty cool, but an oversized one is even
better.
- Everyone that is still trying to play catch up with all the recent
expansions will be happy to hear that the next "expansion" only has a
few new cards, no new rules, etc.
Good idea! :o)

Hmmm.... I'll wait to hear about the details behind this one. Sounds
interesting though.

Sounds good. That should help out the Group 4 independents quite a
bit.

I don't know much about this. Do people use it as a house rule?

Most/all the vampires from the first 3 expansions that WW has not yet
reprinted will be included as well.

More context would be helpful, I see.
Group set 2/3 is full for the clans who had groups 4s introduced in the
Gehenna set.

The reprints should include cards from all classic expansion, IIRC,
which should mean up to Sabbat. I could be wrong, of course.

Basically, this rule has been spoiled in the french magazine Lotus Noir.
If you keep the edge one full turn, it transforms in a "Double Edge"
which gives the following advantages :
- you gain one pool at your untap if you have the Double Edge but it
comes from your prey pool
- it is worth 3 votes if you discard it during referendums
Somebody told that it was wet dreams from the writer of the article.
Seems that WotC and now WW developers must drink a lot at night ....

Will there be a VTES-backed Camille Devereaux with replacement art?
She's so lonely being the only Jyhad-only vampire.

Also known as the "do our jobs for us" storyline.

and play with Democratus as Path of Evil Revelations will be contested
in one out of every two games. I'm suspecting there will be a special
rule that might turn some of your minions infernal. Ouch.

Wanted by whom, I'd like to know, and if its Camerilla that are
hunting, why focus on independents? Curious mix, where the hunters
will be Cam, and the Hunted are indies... doesn't everyone hunt
everyone else in this game? :)

I'm wondering why it wasn't kept around. It's Richard Garfeild based,
so it has to be good for the game. (though what was he thinking with
Govern the Unaligned I'll never know...).

Interesting. I'm curious what the designers consider 'staple
jyhad/vtes' cards that aren't already reprinted in sabaat war,
camarilla edition, and anarchs?
And I assume you get all 100 individual cards of the set in one case?
And which case would that be?

They may not be able to do that for legal reasons. (Isn't this in the

Maybe because the Indies are the Kindred Most Wanted?

If it was in the WotC playtest notes, and didn't make the cut 11 years ago,
there was probably a reason. I'd guess the Gehenna playtesters succeeded in
rediscovering that reason.

[where "it" is the Double Edge]
Probably because it makes wall decks even more fearsome in the 3-way
than they are now?

As far as I know, there is a VTES-Backed Camille Devereaux with
replacement art. They just reasoned that it would be better to replace
her name also and call her Raven ;-)

Now you've made me curious about what the original reason was! I would
think the reason it didn't end up in the original Jyhad rules would
likely have been in those same playtest notes, don't you think?
> [where "it" is the Double Edge]

That could make sense. I think it also might not be "worth" adding a
basic rule change to the rulebook this many years later, though,
considering that it is at least unusual (in my experience, anyhow) for
the Edge to be kept around the table in the first place.
At the same time, wall decks in the 3-way should be decent at holding
the Edge, but how well are they going to do at bleeding to get it in the
first place, if they're serious walls? And can they, practically
speaking, prevent their prey from getting the Edge sometimes too?
(Maybe more practically if it's an Anneke wall deck than otherwise, I
suppose, heh.)
I kind of wonder where Lotus Noir got that spoiler information - it
seems strange that White Wolf would have told them about the "Double
Edge" rule if they had decided not to implement it with the Gehenna
release. :-)
Josh
and how come english-language publications never get this kind of

No. Raven is a different vampire from Camille. She was created as a
replacement, but they are separate named vampires. They don't contest
with each other.

Oh. Ok, that makes sense... Whew! :o) I was a little worried
there.
As you already know, many of us would love to see a few new vampires
to fill in some of the gaps for the Bloodlines. Hopefully, they will
appear here and there in the next few expansions.
Thanks for setting that straight,
Howard

Assuming that their blocking power is backed by combat, they might be
pretty good. Better to lose a pool or a vampire?
> And can they, practically

Maybe. But if all their prey can do is bleed forward (no hunt, equip,
anything like that), the wall deck will still eventually wear it down.
--Colin McGuigan

OK, I'll confess, I forgot that. Even so, it seems to me that if replacement
art would have solved the problem in the first place, Raven would never have
been born. The issue as I see it is that if you made the vampire look like
Stephanie Seymour, you'd still leave yourself open for problems. If you
didn't...well, then it wouldn't be Camille Devereux, either.
Granted, it was all kind of nebulous whether there was even a problem at
the time and, if so, how it could be solved. It may be that White Wolf
sees things differently than WotC did and will feel comfortable printing
something they'll call "Camille Devereux" (and a "Raven" as well). And
that would be just fine with me, mind you. I wasn't complaining. Just
pointing out that I wouldn't be totally surprised if it didn't happen.
