Ablative Skin
Cannot be used to prevent damage that cannot be prevented by cards that
require Fortitude (e.g., Blood Rage and Blood Fury). [LSJ 19990216]

Ah should have checked, sorry. Hmmm another thing; if I play Free States
Rant and there's opnly me and one more player left, and he has only one
vampire and I call the vote with a 7+ cap vamp, do I have to give myself one
point of a vampire I have? According to text this seems to be the case but I
want to be sure.
And what if I play Charming Lobby and choose Political Stranglehold and then
it's delayed with Delaying Tactics, the card is still considered played and
cannot be played again? (my guess is yes).

Yes. You have to allocate the entire set of points.

Yes.

i thought the card wasn't played until after the action had been not
blocked. which may or may not be supported by the above quote, as i am
unsure as to whether the playing of the referendum card is part of the
announcement of the action, or part of the resolution.
if the playing is part of the resolution, is it replaced? as no cards are
replaced during a political action, i am assuming not, but if the
referendum card is played slightly before entering the "during a
political action" bit, then it might be replaceable.
i've never been confortable with knowing how charming lobby works.
i mean, i know what it's supposed to do, effect wise, it's just the
timing of all the bits that messes me up.

Correct.

Part of the resolution.
You announce which referendum you are calling when you announce the Charming
Lobby action, but the card (if any) isn't played until the action resolves.

No cards are replaced during a *referendum*.
The PA card is played before the referendum, so is replaced.

Delaying Tactics, as given in the original question, is played during
the referendum.
Since we're in the referendum, Charming Lobby has resolved and the card
has been played - as per LSJ's post.

Ok I remember what question I actually intended to ask but forgot, it was if
the CL is blocked, if the pol action card was considered played. So I guess
not :)

So if Political Strangehold is blocked it can be called by anther
minion the same turn since it wasn't considered played, right?
[ quoted text not captured ]
If a Charming Lobby that would have called a Political Stranglehold is blocked,
then the Political Stranglehold is not played and can be played later.

Ops sorry, I meant to say Charming Lobby yes.
