LSJ, I have read this other thread http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/browse_thread/thread/7bc91b7ca3f96bb5/80d94549fa7e6fa2?lnk=gst&q=mirror+walk+venenation#80d94549fa7e6fa2 And I wanted to clarify. Is Venenation to just add a corruption counter playable after a Mirror Walk @ [THA]? There honestly does seem to be a window between "yes you have blocked me" and "the action ends" or at least that the acting vampire could sequence and trigger the Venenation before the MW "No Combat" clause. ---------------------------------- Name: Mirror Walk [Third:C, KoT:C] Cardtype: Action Modifier Discipline: Thaumaturgy Do not replace until your discard phase. [tha] +1 stealth. [THA] As [tha] above, and if this action is blocked, the action ends (with no combat). Artist: Brian LeBlanc Name: Venenation [FN:C2/PS2] Cardtype: Action Modifier Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Serpentis Only usable when this acting minion is blocked, before combat begins. [ser] Place a corruption counter on the blocking minion. If the number of your corruption counters on the minion equals or exceeds the blood capacity of that vampire or the cost of that ally, you may burn all of your corruption counters on that minion to gain control of him or her (combat is canceled). Otherwise, combat occurs as normal. [SER] As above, but the cost of this card is reduced by 1 blood. Artist: Brian LeBlanc

This answer seems pretty straightforward: "Mirror Walk ends the action when it is blocked. You cannot play Change of Target after the action ends. Likewise Venenation, Revelation of Despair, etc." -LSJ

Mirror Walk states pretty clearly that the action ends once it is blocked, so that's what happens. What's illogical about that? Jesse

As the acting Methuselah, I get to order what events happen "at the Block Succeeds" moment. While I can't stop the "action ends" from Mirror Walk, there seems to be no reason why I couldn't add in other "Block Succeeds" triggered action modifiers, or conversely from the blocker (e.g. Obedience, etc) in response to anything from my end. There doesn't seem to be a reason why I can order sections of my untap phase (Untap Cards, Order "At the beginning of your Untap Phase do X" effects, then Order "During your untap phase do X" effects and then order "Before your Master Phase do X" effects) and not also be able to insert other effects triggering from "Block Succeeds" so that Mirror Walk's "End Action" happens later.

Obedience (Kiss of Ra, et al) has all ready set a precedent for what you are inquiring. Once Obedience has been played its effects happen, action ends and no further modifiers or reactions can be played. Once Mirror Walk has been played and its requirement has been met (being blocked) its effect sets off and no other mods or reactions can be played. Because of its delayed effect you can, however, play mods and reactions before its requirement is met. It seems consistent.
