The Fifth Tradition: Hospitality [Jyhad, V:TES] Cardtype: Action Cost: 1 blood Requires ready prince or justicar. +1 stealth action. Choose a controlled vampire. That vampire gains enough blood from the blood bank to reach full capacity. has something changed if i target another meth action ? is it still a (D) action without stealth if i want to replenish a vampire i do not control myself ?? =) thank you

[ quoted text not captured ] New Card Text:(CE) Cost: 1 blood Requires a ready prince or Justicar. +1 stealth action. Choose a vampire other than the acting vampire. That vampire gains 4 blood from the blood bank. (blood in excess of capacity is removed as usual). The D action bit comes from 6.2.2 where actions directed at another Methuselah (or their minions) are by default directed. This text appears in the Cam rulebook in 6.2.2.1 I see nothing that would affect the +1 stealth and couldn't find a ruling that had the old version at zero stealth when cross-table refilling. So as far as I can tell it would have been +1 stealth before, and still is. but of course I could be wrong (and have been before) -JTP

Fifth Tradition: Blood Cost:1 Requires a ready Prince or Justicar. +1 stealth action. Choose a vampire other than the acting vampire. That vampire gains 4 blood from the blood bank (blood in excess of capacity is removed as usual). > has something changed if i target another meth action ? is it still a (D) > action without stealth if i want to replenish a vampire i do not control > myself ?? =) > > thank you Fifth tradition is a directed action with an inherent +1 stealth applied (card text) regardless of who is the target (only restriction is that the acting vampire may not be the target of Fifth) Pc.

[ quoted text not captured ] What made you think you could target a non-controlled vampire with the original version of Fifth Tradition? It appears that it was not allowed by card text. Fred

At any rate, the original 5th tradition and the current one are the same in this regard - if you target a vampire you control, the action is undirected and at +1 stealth. If you target a vampire someone else controls, the action is directed and at +1 stealth. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Ug, my mistake. Apparently, it didn't occur to me that the significance of the word, "controlled" would be to distinguish legal targets from "uncontrolled" vampires. In this context, it's rather natural to assume that "controlled" communicates that the vampire is controlled by the Methuselah whose minion is acting. Though the meaning is clear, given a reading of the rules, I hope this sort of use of the term is avoided just to prevent casual mistakes like mine. Anyway, according to the rules about playing cards on top of other cards, the inclusion of "controlled" in this context is superfluous on a card like this, is it not? Fred

[ quoted text not captured ] No. He wanted to know what happens if he tries to replenish a vampire that he doesn't control himself. This is equivalent to "if I want to replenish a vampire controlled by someone else", given the the rules about playing cards on other cards, but is not superfluous. [ quoted text not captured ]
