This seems weird, but appears to be legitimate : The situation: Methuselah A has Thetmes, calif of Alamut and Ingrid Russo Methuselah B has any vampire, say, for example, Lutz. Thetmes rushes Lutz successfully with Clandestine contract, putting contract on him and naming Thetmes. Both minions use handstrikes, Lutz goes to torpor because of aggravated hands. Ingrid Russo plays superior Graverobbing on Lutz. Lutz becomes controlled by methuselah A. Next turn, Thetmes rushes his own Lutz via Clandestine contract, sends him to torpor and then plays Provision of silsila, refilling himself and burning clandestine contract. Is this legal? By cardtext it appears so, as Clandestine contract specifies that it needs to be PUT on a minion controlled by another methuselah, and rush part does not specify that... Relevant texts : Clandestine contract, 1 pool : Contract. Requires an Assamite with a capacity above 4. +1 stealth action. (D) Enter combat with a ready minion controlled by another Methuselah and put this card on that minion. This Assamite is chosen for this contract. This Assamite may enter combat with the minion with this card as a +1 stealth (D) action. Provision of the Silsila, Action Modifier/Reaction This card can be played as an action modifier or a reaction card. Usable by a tapped vampire. Only usable after a combat involving this Assamite and an opposing minion with a contract naming this Assamite. Only usable if the opposing minion is not ready and this Assamite is ready. This Assamite gains enough blood from the blood bank to reach full capacity, and the contract is burned. Graverobbing, Action, Dominate [dom] (D) Move a vampire from another Methuselah`s torpor area to your own torpor area. You now control that vampire. [DOM] (D) As above, and this acting vampire may burn 2 blood to move the vampire into your ready region. Thetmes, Caliph of Alamut, 10, dom pot CEL OBF QUI, Assamite, Independent: Thetmes has 2 votes. Damage from Thetmes's hand strikes is aggravated. (Blood Cursed)

No. [6.4] Combat ...Whatever caused the combat, it is important to remember that only ready minions can participate in combat and that your minions cannot enter combat with any of your other minions.

No. You can never enter combat with your own minions. http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/rulebook/ 6.4 [ quoted text not captured ]

[ quoted text not captured ] Hardly... I Red List my own Julius. I enter combat with my own Julius and collect trophies from burning my own Julius.

If this is in the rulebook, then why is the "controlled by another Methusaleh" text repeated on every card that allows one minion to enter combat with another minion, except of course the cornercase use of Clandestine Contract? If it's in the rules already, it seems redundant to print it every time. It's kind of like effects that do damage out of combat; the card always says "unpreventable." However, there are no effects that can prevent damage outside of combat anyway, except perhaps superior Rutor's Hand. Additional, "reminder", text like this seems redundant but begs the question as to what would allow you to enter combat with your own minions or prevent damage out of combat, etc., when it's already impossible.
