During an action, Henry Taylor (controlled by you) plays Shape Mastery at superior (i.e., as a reaction card) to cancel a Shadow Play. Can you move that Shape Mastery from your ash heap to the top of your library after that action? I guess he cannot, because he did not play Shape Mastery as a combat card, but as a reaction card, and Henry Taylor's text reads: "... a combat card Henry played during that action...". Name: Shape Mastery [BH:R] Cardtype: Combat/Reaction Discipline: Protean [pro] Cancel a combat card that requires Obtenebration [obt], Protean, or Vicissitude [vic] as it is played (no cost is paid). The opposing minion cannot play that card again this action. [PRO] As above, but cancel an action modifier that requires any of those Disciplines. Name: Henry Taylor [BH:U2] Cardtype: Vampire Clan: Brujah antitribu Group: 3 Capacity: 6 Discipline: cel pre pro POT Sabbat: After an action, you may move a combat card Henry played during that action from your ash heap to the top of your library. >I guess he cannot, because he did not play Shape Mastery as >a combat card, but as a reaction card, and Henry Taylor's >text reads: "... a combat card Henry played during that action...". But when Henry plays it, it is only as a reaction card, it does not count as a combat card. Thus it does not qualify. Similarly, if he played a Swallowed by the Night for stealth and was blocked, he coudln't retrieve that either. Halcyan 2

In all cases, a card that isn't played as an action modifier doesn't count as an action modifier. In all cases, only action modifiers count as action modifiers. [ quoted text not captured ]

salem <salem_ch...@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:<ondcuvcsnoah0r4sa...@4ax.com>... [ quoted text not captured ] Card Text: Chiram's Hold Combat Cost: 1 blood Requires a ready vampire in combat with an acting minion. Only usable before range is determined. Give this card to the controller of the acting minion and move a combat card from that Methuselah's ash heap to this card. The chosen combat card costs that Methuselah's vampires an additional blood. That Methuselah may burn this card by discarding a copy of the chosen combat card during his or her discard phase. A Methuselah can have only 1 Chiram's Hold. Note text: "The chosen COMBAT card". Answer - no. When SbtN is played as an action mod, it is not being played as a combat card, therefore it does not cost extra. Eric Simon Prince of Chicago http://dragonhawke.net/chicagovtes
