I need some input. Heres the situation:
someone gets blocked, combat ensues.
no maneuvering, close range
vampire 1 strikes body of sun (or burst of sunlight or any card that damages
BOTH vampires in combat)
vampire 2 plays skin of steel "prevents all damage from opponents strike" or
something akin to that.
so, Does Vampire 1 take damage?
I'd really like to know.

Yes. V2 only prevented damage directed to himself.

A-yup! Vamp2 protected himself fully (unless Vamp1's card said "This
damage cannot be prevented"), but Vamp1 has NO protection at all. This is
why we do not use a Burst of Sunlight against a vamp with Fortitude. :-)
