Hi LSJ (or whoever else), Here it goes: Some people from my playgroup came with this interpretation lately, if somebody comes to counter press the effect of a Trap or an Undead Persistence, it will cancel the effect of either of those cards, and then burn it at the same time. Trying to explain that this ain't so, they strongly suggest me to ask the question here. I was also going to ask you if I am going crazy, or if I was dumb to ask you this here, but please, don't even think about answering. My conscience wouldn't really appreciate it. GP41

If it was under the undead persistence, then that vampire goes to torpor. Just because you may play Undead Persistence doesn't mean it creates a free "press to continue" every round. And Trap just gives 1 "press to continue" at the end of the combat round instead of the default "press to end", so someone can now "press to end" and end the combat - trap will not keep them there if do not "press to continue" again. Playing both Trap & Undead Persistence is a good combo, but 1 "press to end" will still end your combo if you don't "press to continue." "GP41" <GP...@videotron.ca> wrote in message news:3CCDC33D...@videotron.ca... [ quoted text not captured ] Undead Persistence [for] Only usable when this vampire should go into torpor. This vampire gets an optional press and will not go to torpor until combat ends (although he or she is still considered wounded and can be burned as normal). If 3 rounds of combat pass with no cards played, combat ends. This vampire is sent into torpor after combat. [FOR] Prevent 2 damage. If all presses to continue are cancelled then combat ends. So by card text on UP the vampire playing UP goes to torpor. If you play Trap then UP ( giving 2 presses to continue that round ) and your opponent plays 2 presses to end and you then play another press to continue then combat continues and Trap and UP are still in effect.

Are you asking "I play a trap, reach the press step, my opponent presses to end (thus negating the trap's press to continue) and I now press again to continue successfully making it to second round. Will the trap still be there in the second round?" I believe the answer is yes. I don't think that cancelling the press "burns" the card. As for undead persistence, well I always thought that it worked much as a trap with some added benefit, but as per the online version (which I just went and read); "Undead Persistence [Jyhad, V:TES, Sabbat, SW] Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Fortitude [for] Only usable when this vampire should go into torpor. This vampire gets an optional press and will not go to torpor until combat ends (although he or she is still considered wounded and can be burned as normal). If 3 rounds of combat pass with no cards played, combat ends. This vampire is sent into torpor after combat. [FOR] Prevent 2 damage." It seems that you only get the _single_ press (thus only usable on that first round) and need to supply the additional presses from another source (eg a trap). Again I don't think that a press to end will "burn" the UP. When you uses presses to cancel presses I don't think that you are cancelling cards as such, simply altering the effect that is currently in place (that could be bullshit though). Wait for someone with more 'oomph' to reply and see what happens...I am a little curious myself. -Scrote
