Hi! I'm going over some of my older decks and found a Telepathic Vote counting in my Toreador deck. I wonder: How does the normal version work? i.e. difference to Change Of Target? TVC: "Cancel a political action and take the political card, if any, back into your hand". Can I untap the acting vampire? Can I cancel the current combat, if blocked? Michael

In article <3A12A15C...@addcom.de>, [ quoted text not captured ] Telepathic Vote Counting [Jyhad, V:TES, SW] Cardtype: Action modifier Discipline: Auspex Only usable during a referendum. Cancel the referendum. If you played a political card to call this referendum, take the card back into your hand (and discard back down to your hand size). Any votes cast are lost. (S) Only usable during a referendum. A vampire of your choice abstains from voting. This can cancel that vampire's votes. I am not sure about untapping the acting vampires as it is not mentioned in the cardtext. But when you reach the combat phase it means that the Political action has been blocked, the referendum (counting of the votes) is not reached at all and thus you cannot use TVC to escape combat. You can use TVC when the action is successfull, during the casting of the votes (referendum). -- A.A.H. I think the new version of the card from Sabbat War is a little easier to understand: Telepathic Vote Counting [Jyhad, V:TES, SW] Cardtype: Action modifier Discipline: Auspex Only usable during a referendum. Cancel the referendum. If you played a political card to call this referendum, take the card back into your hand (and discard back down to your hand size). Any votes cast are lost. Can I cancel the current combat, if > blocked? The political _action_ itself must have succeeded (so that a referendum results) before TVC can be played at all, so there is no reason to untap the acting vampire (since card test does not state anything to that effect) - he took that action, after all. For the same reason, there cannot be a combat the acting vampire is in - note the new term "referendum" instead of just "political action" was introduced to make cards like these easier to handle. -- Hardy Range "Let us witness the Reincarnation of the Sun" Fields of the Nephilim, Psychonaut hardy...@gmx.de

I wonder: How does the normal version >work? i.e. difference to Change Of Target? Text for the inferior reads: "Only usable during a referendum. Cancel the referendum. If you played a political card to call this referendum, take the card back into your hand (and discard back down to your hand size). Any votes cast are lost." >TVC: "Cancel a political action and take the political card, if any, >back into your hand". Yeah, that's the old text. The new text (from Sabbat War) is a wee bit clearer. >Can I untap the acting vampire? Can I cancel the current combat, if >blocked? It doesn't say to untap anyone, so no. It's only usable during a referendum, which assumes the action succeeded, so it won't cancel combat. gomi -- i haul the burden for the high and mighty but i'm the top hat devil's son i've got the luck of the drunk, try an' nail me i'm the bullseye - aim your gun

I think I will exchange the TVC with an Change of Target then. Seems better for that kind of deck... Michael
