After a small hiatus, our group has begun playing Jyhad again. Once again, we were faced with the unclear forced Withdrawal rules (we've actually been forced to use the rules three times now.) We can't seem to get our minds around the rulings; the problem lies, strangely enough, with the term, 'must withdraw'. Now, Withdrawal, as we understand it, means: 1) Minions cannot enter combat 2) minions cannot burn/lose blood 3) Meth. cannot lose pool Can the Meth continue to perform actions which do not violate this rule? I.e. perform bleed actions, equip 'free' equipment, call votes, etc. which could finish off his opponant, but could also lead to his minions entering combat? We'd appreciate a good, solid FAQ on the subject, if such exists... Alan (aj)

In Jyhad/Vtes, a methuselah who was intending to withdraw must keep her minions out of combat and must keep all of her pool and minions' blood intact for the duration of the time between the announcement of the intention to withdraw and her next untap phase. If she succeeeds, then whe withdraws. In the Sabbat, there is simply a successful withdrawal. This happens immediately when a methuselah finds herself with less than a full hand due to having exhausted her library. > Can the Meth continue to perform actions which do > not violate this rule? The methuselah is out of the game, and all of the cards she controlled are burned. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@regency.wizards.com) Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. >Now, Withdrawal, as we understand it, means: >1) Minions cannot enter combat >2) minions cannot burn/lose blood >3) Meth. cannot lose pool In Sabbat forced withdrawal means exactly that - immediate leaving of the game. No previous rules about withdrawal must or in fact can be adhered to in such a case. So, you're just gone. --- Liam Burke "The Democrats can't pull it together if we rip them apart." -overheard
