Okay, I have tried and tried to figure these questions out for myself, but there is no light at the end of the tunnel yet. Here they go... 1. Vamp A has a zip gun and 1 blood, vamp B has thaumaturgy an 3 blood. Vamp A uses the zip gun to manuver to long range and fire, thus invoking the one point of damage clause contained in the zipgun. Vamp B uses a Theft of Vitae card to steal 2 blood from vamp A. As far as I can tell, these two sources of damage cannot be resolved simultaneously in the damage prevention stage of combat. If the zipgun resolves first, vamp A has no blood left, and therefore the ToV is pointless. If the ToV resolves first, vamp A gets put into torpor from the zipgun's side effect. What should happen here? 2. The text on Watenda (AH malk, 3blood, obf) does not say "any combat he is in". Can he affect combats he is not participating in? Something to think about. pulled fangs? never! muahahaha. -Eric -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- )____( |Eric Eslinger: esli...@pilot.msu.edu ...A hurricane ( oo ) |Michigan State University inspired by /-----(..) |http://www.nscl.msu.edu/~eslinger butterfly wings... *| | moo | +||-|| |"For best results, squeeze tube from the bottom and ~~ ~~ |flatten as you go up" -- Plato ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK---- Version: 3.1 GCS/M/S d-@ s: a-- C++(++++) UULO++$ L+ P+ !E W+++ N+ w--- O++ M- PV-(+++)$ S+@ PE Y t++@ !5 !X R+ tv-- b+++ DI+ D G e>++++ h r++ y? -----END GEEK CODE BLOCK-----

I think I can answer this one, though -- it's exactly the same situation as Stanislava's special ability (which Tom has ruled on). Since the ability mentions the "opposing minion", the ability can only be used in a combat that the vampire is in -- otherwise there is no opposing minion. --- Eric Pettersen pe...@cgl.ucsf.edu (NeXTmail capable)

Will a vampire with 1 blood and 2 capacity that takes 2 damage and steals 2 blood go to topor and will it end up with 0, 1, or 2 blood.

What should happen here? My guess is that the zipgun payment happens BEFORE resolution, i.e. when you use it. Then ToV resolves at the same time as your ranged strike resolves with him. You have no blood left, his ToV fizzles. The key, I believe, is the text which states that the zip gun does damage "when used". Feel free to wait for a rulesmonger, I'm just tossing in my two cents. It would be in keeping with the ruling stating that the "damage" done to the bearer can not be dodged... -spongy

What should happen here? They resolve at the same - applying damage to A and moving blood from A to B. After those effects happen, then you begin healing the damage applied - vamp A burns one blood to heal the damage applied. (So, effectively, the damage is applied second, but it helps if you think of it in the above terms). >2. The text on Watenda (AH malk, 3blood, obf) does not say "any combat >he is in".
