hi there ! just a little question about a special prevention card : Skin of night it allows you to treat aggravated damage like normal damage for the current round of combat. Superior version says "as above and prevent one damage". Can the prevention occur later this round, like in "unflintching persistence "? so what happens when you play it before range is chosen to counter a "dawn op + weather control" combo ? is the prevention lost when we go to maneuver step ? reyda

No. Without specific card text allowing the delay, you cannot "carry over" damage prevention to another phase. > so what happens when you play it before range is chosen to counter > a "dawn op + weather control" combo ? The card lets you treat the damage as normal, but it does not prevent the damage, and its ability to prevent a damage for you is lost. > is the prevention lost when we go to maneuver step ? No, it is lost when it is played. If you don't have damage to prevent, playing it as superior is not of any value to you, as the card doesn't have text letting you save the prevention for later. Skin of night vs Rötsherek Does Rötsherek work against a vampire who plays Skin of Night? [ quoted text not captured ]

Rotschreck only cares that the attempt to use aggravated damage is made, not whether or not the vampire will receive the damage. See the online card text for clarification: http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/Cardlist_R.html#Rotschreck Rotschreck [Jyhad] Cardtype: Master Master: out-of-turn. Play when a minion attempts to use aggravated damaged against a vampire, whether successfully or not. Combat ends before damage is resolved. That vampire is put in torpor, tapped, with this card on it. During the vampire's next untap phase, burn this card instead of untapping the vampire. Carpe Noctem.
