Q1. A bleeds B at +1 stealth, B plays a wake card or two to cycle never intending to block - can A give B intercept with handy KRCG, London Evening etc. that he cannot refuse thus starting combat ? Q2. What is the current ruling on Flesh of Marble / Disarm ? Can you rip em' off when you score more damage that is then reduced by Flesh ?(what a lovely card... still) Q3. I bring out a 6 pointer, next turn putting a skill card on it. Does it still then qualify on both counts for Legendary Vampire ? (an underused card if you ask me) thanks in advance. Rob T. I should think so, if B was silly enough to say "I wake and try to block." When I want to burn Wake cards, I usually make sure to specify "I wake and watch" so I can't accidentally end up blocking. But if B was actually trying to block, sure, i think you can hand off intercept and force him into combat =) >Q3. I bring out a 6 pointer, next turn putting a skill card on it. (an underused card >if you ask me) Only if you have the Parthenon, I think, since Legendary Vampire refers to "a vampire with a capacity above 6 who was moved into your active region during your last turn." Complicated, but effective. Easier to pack Banishments and when you finally draw LV up, Banish your own guy to play it on him next turn. =) >Rob T. >Prince of sod all, England. does that little whatsit Harry know this? =) -- Derek PEACE, n. When playing the wake, you can declare either: Wake and attempt to block. or Wake with no block attempt. If you are attempting to block an action and do not have enough intercept, anyone at the table can give you intercept (if they have a way to do so). The moral of the story is to only attempt to block if you really want to block. The more humorous example is as follows: I Govern the Unaligned at you with Constanza Vinti, You attempt to block with Anson I play Alacrity increasing my stealth by one, And replace the Alacrity with an Immortal Grapple. I now think that I can beat you up in combat since I can stop your Majesty, so I tap the KRCG and pay a pool to have you enter combat with me. Personally, I'd take the bleed in most cases, but it could happen. > Q2. What is the current ruling on Flesh of Marble / Disarm ? Can you rip em' > off when you score more damage that is then reduced by Flesh ?(what a lovely > card... still) Disarm requires that the damage be sucessfully inflicted. sucessfully inflicted means not prevented, so Disarm is relatively useless against flesh of marble. Unless the opposing minion has sucessfuly inflicted no damage, you will almost always wind up with 1 point of damage done by both minions. I have had the chance to prevent the one point that they inflicted with a sideslip and use disarm though against a flesh of marble guy before though. That was fun. > Q3. (an underused card > if you ask me) This seems to work (via Parthenon or Rumors/Anson) but might need an LSJ stamp of approval since I'm not sure how the LV is read. A similar question (on how to read the LV text) happens if I bring out a 7 cap vampire and get my capacity reduced by one before my untap. In one case, I can play the LV and in the other I cannot. So which is it Scott? Does legendary vampire require that the vampire's capaicity be above 6: (a) at all times from when they were brought out to playing the LV. (b) when brought out. (c) when LV is played. I'm betting in (c) which would allow a skill card followed immediately by a LV on a six cap. Hope this helps. Stu Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

So, whenever you prevent damage, it is not really considered to be inflicted for the purposes of doing X damage or doing more damage etc. So, you cannot Disarm if the damage is prevented by Flesh of Marble. >Q3. I bring out a 6 pointer, next turn putting a skill card on it. Does it >still then qualify on both counts for Legendary Vampire ? (an underused card >if you ask me) Yes, though you will have to play the Legendary Vampire *NOW*. Legendary Vampire requires a vampire in excess of 6 capacity, which the vampire now is, being a 7. It also requires a vampire moved into your active region during your last turn, which it was. So, it qualifies. However, you would have to have, say, Rumours of Gehenna, Anson or the Parthenon out in order to play Legendary Vampire as your second master phase action, else you will lose the "during your last turn" bit - so Legendary Vampire won't be playable. Alternatively, you could bargain with a cross-table player to drop a skill card on them during their turn, so your master phase is free to drop the Leg Vamp. -- James Coupe (Prince of Mercia, England) Vampire: Elder Kindred Network http://madnessnetwork.hexagon.net http://www.obeah.demon.co.uk

If the vampire wasn't attempting to block, then there is nothing to force him to attempt to block now, either. Moreover, if he wasn't attempting to block, then you couldn't tap the KRCG to give him intercept, since he doesn't need it [6.2.2.2] > >Q2. What is the current ruling on Flesh of Marble / Disarm ?
