Hi, forgive me, I know this question has been asked a million times, but I could neither remember the answer nor find any of the past discussions. So, is there any way to get more than 2 masters a turn played? For example, Anson says you may play 2 masters a turn, where as Parthenon is worded that you get an extra master. So is Anson+Parthenon 3 masters? Or still just 2? Thanks, Vanda

Note that both Anson and Rumors of Gehenna set the number of these master phase actions to 2, so they do NOT add up, but as you correctly noted, the Parthenon can be tapped for an _additional_ one. > Thanks, > Vanda -- Hardy Range hardy...@gmx.de

In article <3A647131...@attglobal.net>, [ quoted text not captured ] Anson+Parthenon lets you play 3 masters a turn. So does Rumors of Gehenna plus Parthenon. (Rumors plus Anson does not, because both set your master phase actions to 2 rather than giving you an "additional" master phase action. Parthenon's MPA is written as "additional", and so it stacks with either one.) (But don't forget that, no matter how many MPAs you expect to have on your next turn, you can only play one out-of-turn master between actual master phases.) Josh not official, but probably right. Yep. And also don't forget the new SW card The Coven. With this card, you could get up to 91 master phases with a tournament deck (and then withdraw, which gives you a decent chance at getting a VP - though if your predator goes first and gets a weenie or someone plays an Anarch Revolt, etc. you're screwed). Note that your withdrawal attempt would start the turn after you play your 90 Covens, and then you'd have to last until your following untap with no combat, pool loss, or blood loss. Doesn't exactly require weenies on the part of your predator - a 5 cap will do if she went first, a 4 cap if you go first, etc. (assuming no Info Highway). And a Sudden Reversal will seriously cut into your efforts, as well. :-) -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. I'd assumed that, when you play the Coven, you gain the master phase action in advance of the Coven coming into play. If that were not the case, you could not play Coven after playing another master card (barring MPA-gaining effects), and I could swear that you said the Coven didn't have to be your first master card played in a turn for it to be playable. But maybe that's the crack talking again. The only message I can find on Deja where you mentioned it, it looks like you said you get the additional MPA when the Coven comes into play (which would be after it's Reversible, and would not let you play the Coven after playing another master card that master phase). Clarification appreciated, Josh always needs clarification [ quoted text not captured ]

It cannot be played if you have no master phase action left to use to play it, no. It is written to give you another master phase action; it isn't written so as not to cost a master phase action at all. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
