Heaven's Gate Combat Obeah/Necromancy 1 blood Only usable by a ready untapped minion not involved in combat. [nec] Prevent 1 damage to an ally in combat. [obe] Only usable when an ally is burned in combat. Move that ally to his or her controller's uncontrolled region (controlled, but not ready) instead. Put 1 life on the ally from the blood bank if he or she has no life. [OBE] As [obe] above, but add up to 2 life to ally, not to exceed his or her starting amount. Reading your answer to Pat in November, I gather that a burned Renegade Garou would not be returned to three life using a superior Heaven's Gate after it had lost its last life. However, it's not clear what would happen if a Garou had been reduced to one life and then was burned using, say, an Entombment. If so, how many life would the Heaven's Gate _add_ to the Garou's one remaining life: A) Zero life because the condition of losing its last life in the inferior version was not met and the superior version also requires this condition to invoke the clause which adds life to the ally. B) One life in order to bring it "up to" two life instead of bringing it up to one life as in the inferior version. C) Two life, bringing it up to a total of three life, because the condition of losing its last life was not intended to matter in the superior version and the only limitation to adding life is the ally's starting life level. ? (Guessing (A) but too timid to be sure.) Fred

[ quoted text not captured ] C. You move renegade garou to uncontroled region instead of burning. Skip the part that adds one life to him, cause he has one already and add up to 2 life to him.

Incorrect. The superior states "as above" but does not exempt the "if he has no life" clause. Therefore, the Garou goes into the uncontrolled region with one life, and gains no additional life from the bank. kelly

The card says that is is playable when an ally is burned in combat, so you can play it after an Entombment. The Garou is then not burned. Next it says the "almost burned" ally gains 1 (or 2 at superior) life ***if it has none***. Since the Garou has 1 life, it doesn't gain any more. It stays in play as it is. But it seems a good tactic anyway since the Garou regenerates, when other allies don't. I see a Salubri + Gangrel alliance building up :D best, Fabio "Sooner" Macedo

Correct. -- That is my story, be it bitter or be it sweet. Keep a little and let a little come back to me.
