Proposition: I make a deck of 70 equipment cards. I put 12 Darius Styx's in my vampire pile. Pull him out, and tap to look at *MY* hand to randomly throw one of them on him per turn. right? can I put seven assault rifles on the bastard for free? -- ____________________________________________________________________ Earl, are you okay??? First - why not put nine Darius' in your crypt, you'll still always get one out. And second, your idea is not legal as you cannot do a direct action against yourself. Nice try though! Pete

House rules around here are self-directed (D)-actions become undirected. However, the DTR is a wee bit different. :) To each, their own. Under those house rules, I would definately consider adding another house rule: 'Darius can only use his ability on *other* methuselahs' Since that card was written after the power-giving (D) symbol was the standard, and self-directing Darius is far too unbalancing (since you can see your own hand anytime). It's not a new concept: You can't bleed yourself, you can't enter combat with yourself, you can't pick cards randomly from your own hand. How's that work for you, Corrupter? -- L. If you're looking at her hand, then you'll have to find some way of picking a card randomly (roll a seven-sided die, for instance). Just because you can look at her hand doesn't mean you get to use that information to make your selection non-randomly. Card text says 'choose at random' - without saying that this only applies if you aren't looking at her hand in the first place. -- L. (Y/y) > Graphics Specialist and V:tES Rulemonger. | Ok so what is the difference between using your rule instead of the official rule? The only difference I can see is that you can Charnas yourself and there might be a way to enter combat with yourself(madness network and eagle sight?) but I don't see why you want to add this to an already huge list of house rules when it has a very small effect on the game.
