Temptation of Greater Power (and Hostile Takeover): Can Methuselahs bid more pool than they will be able to pay? I know that for Game of Malkav and Malkavian Prank, the pool you hold is a "wager" and doesn't come from your actual pool; if you'd lose enough to oust you, you're just ousted and the excess is ignored. (though, a side note: if someone holds more pool than they have for a Prank and the Prankster guesses right, does the Prankster get the full amount held, or only as much as the victim actually had? since the Prank says to gain the pool *from* the Methuselah... you know, I think I may have asked this before.) back to the ToGP/HT: It seems clear that you can bid with your last pool and get yourself ousted (if you win the auction). Can you also bid *more* than your last pool, and get yourself ousted by winning the auction? If you do, do you get the vampire first, and then leave the game (causing the vampire to leave the game as well)? Bribes: if you are scheduled to gain pool for a Bribed vote that would reduce you to 0 otherwise, do you gain the pool soon enough to stay alive? Bribes says "when the results of the referendum are tallied" which is presumably sooner than, or at least no later than, applying the effects of the vote. thanks, Josh seems to encounter a new rules question at every vtes session Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

You can only bid what you can pay. For temptation, you can bid up to five over what you are currently able to pay, by card text. > if someone holds more pool than they have for a [Malkavian] Prank > and the Prankster guesses right, does the Prankster > get the full amount held, or only as much as the victim actually > had? since the Prank says to gain the pool *from* the > Methuselah... you know, I think I may have asked this before.) (The vampire is burned, actually). > Bribes: if you are scheduled to gain pool for a Bribed vote that > would reduce you to 0 otherwise, do you gain the pool soon enough > to stay alive? Note that this is different than gaining pool from Voter Captivation, which is played after the referendum. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
