The rules state that any ready minion with zero blood must hunt as their action. My question is: Must they perform an action? Or can I not do ANY action with a zero blood vampire, just to have him available to block? Thanks...

[ quoted text not captured ] Peace Nobody, If a vamp BEGINS the Minion Phase with zero blood, it must hunt and that hunting must be the first action taken. If a vamp is untapped and has zero blood at some other time in the Minion Phase (just rescued from torpor, for example), it does not have to hunt immediately, BUT may perform no other action. Yes, it could block after your turn is over. Nil carborundum illigitimi, James R. McClure Jr. The OS/2 Apostle <insert disclaimer here>

If your minion starts the minion phase ready and with no blood on it, it MUST hunt as its action. It does not have a choice to not act, or to do something else. But remember that this is a very specific circumstance: 0 blood at the _start_ of the minion phase. So, if you rescue a vamp from torpor and it comes out with 0 blood, you are not required to hunt that turn as it was not ready at the start of the minion phase. But if it is to take any action, it must hunt. hope this helped stephen

A: If you start the minion phase with any vampires with no blood, then those vampires must all hunt before any other actions can be taken. Vampires with no blood can take no action other than hunting, but they are only forced to hunt at the start of the minion phase. For example, if your vampire that has no blood on it is rescued from torpor, it can be left available to block until your next minion phase. -- ----- L. If you have a vamp with 0 blood at the beginning of your minion phase, you're first action must be to hunt with that vampire. The only exception to this that I ahve seen is a minion with 0 blood and Talbot's Chainsaw. In this case, the minion just sits there doing nothing (but can be used to block) Gary

If the vampire has no blood in your untap phase then it must hunt as your first action in your minion phase. If, however, the vampire ends up ready and zero blood during your turn (ie. just got rescued from torpor) then you can choose not to hunt, so long as the vamp takes no other action this turn.
