I've been thinking about ways to use the Coven effectively. It seems clear that the blood gain can be used at various stages during combat to gain enough blood to play additional cards or absorb damage. I'm wondering about a specific case. Assume I have a 2 cap vampire with two blood. The opposing minion strikes for four damage. Can I spend two blood for the first two points of damage, tap the Coven to gain two more and then spend these two for the final points, thus avoiding torpor? No. Damage is all handled in the same instant. As in the case of Renegade Garou taking three damage and Vagabond Mystic attempting to save him. Also, you can't tap coven to allow a 2-capacity vampire to pay for a card that costs 4 blood - the cost of a card is also paid all at once. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Can you tap the Coven after choose strike phase but before strike/damage resoltion phase? It may lead to the oposing Meth miscalculating the amount of damage that he has to do to send my vamp to torpor.
