In last night's league games, someone played the first Force of Will/
Movement of the Slow Body/Rapid Healing deck in our group. And
don't forget the Fame.
Here is what happened. With a vampire with Fame, player 1 takes an action
(equip a Laptop, I believe). He then plays Force of Will. His Prey attempts
to block. Player 1 plays Dawn Operation. The action is blocked and they
enter combat.
Player 1 plays Form of Mist superior. His prey plays a Psyche. Does the
Dawn Operation still apply? When does the Force of Will damage take place?
Ok, combat continues, and the winning argument is that the FoW damage waits,
and the DO still applies. What happens when the acting vamp plays a
untap card? In this case, we said it would end the action with no
continuation. Both do hand damage. The reacting minion prevents. The
acting minon goes into torpor from aggravated damage. The Form of Mist
fizzles because the vampire is in torpor and cannot take actions, correct?
He then takes another damage from the FoW, as we played it.
I think we took about 15 minutes arguing about the various problems in this
action. The FoW/MotSB/RH combo ousted his prey, but his next prey (my
predator) was playing a Golconda/Soul Gem deck. He won with probably 40
pool left. Basically, the only way to stop it was to block the Soul
Gem equip action, but my Raven Spies were burried.
I drew the FoW/MotSB/RH guy as my prey again in the second game. Since
we all knew what he was up to, his prey's Muddled kept his vampires in torpor.
Of course, after I elliminated my prey, he quickly sent Nikolaus Vermeulen
and Harrod into torpor with a Sengir Dagger.

Dawn Op. only applies to the initial combat.
Damage from Force of Will occurs immediately after the first combat.

What untap card? Cat's Guidance? Majesty?

Yes (although moot, since the second combat would not have occured
anyhow). Anytime an acting vampire winds up in torpor, any action he
was undertaking as a ready vampire cannot be continued.

Steal/Destroy the Equipment. Sudden Reversal the Golconda. Send the
bearer to torpor and Grave Rob him. Contest the Soul Gem. Contest
the bearer (when yielded, the minion card - the Gem - is out of play
and will not function). If you're playing by the VtES wording on
Soul Gem, then diablerize the bearer - the Gem will be burnt.

What? No Canine Hordes? Shame on you :-)

Sorry, meant a S:CE/untap type card.

Yeah, I know. This was a basically untested deck. I had wanted to put
in Canine Hordes but not enough vamps had sup. Animalism, so I left it
out thinking it wouldn't be too important. I prob would have won the
game with how I modified it. Threw in a couple animalism skill cards,
Canine Hordes, and Drawing out the Beast. Now, my Amaranth won't
backfire and give my predator the pool cuz he has all those guns.
One thing I don't like about the groups current house rules, is that
you can't pile on Undead Strengths on a Torn Signpost. I was rather
upset when i used my Vial of Garou Blood and a Torn Signpost, and was
told I couldn't play an Undead Strength and then a Burning Wrath. The
league president was my prey and he said that ruling would probably be
overturned. *cross fingers*
