Hello everybody, I've been reading this newsgroup to enhance my Jyhad knowledge, but recently I found something that is new to me: Point System. Could anyone of you explain me how is this? Thanks and regards... Rodolfo Leal Blamag Roth the Seeker of Lore

Thanks and regards... I think that the point system that you're refering to is probably the point system for determining what powers, titles, and disciplines a vampire will have. In short: a vampire has a # of points for powers equal to it's capacity, modified by -1 if it's 4 capacity or less, and +1 if it's 9 capacity or more. Vampires get more points for drawbacks, and if they have combinations of powers which will rarely get used, they occasionally get a few extra points. Each level of a discipline costs a point; basic is 1, superior is 2. Titles: Primogen is 1/2 point, Prince is 1 point, Justicar is 3/2 points. Note that vampires have the cost of titles increased by 1/2 point if they are Nosferatu or Gangrel. +1 bleed or hand damage costs 2 points. Most special abilites costs can be determined from the # of points the vamp should have compared to what s/he has before factoring in that specific ability. Weaknesses on Caitiff can also be measured in point value this way. (For those who are also reading the 'Sabbat vampire' thread, this is what we're complaining about, if you couldn't tell. As mentioned, Ian Forestal flagrantly violates the point system as defined above.) Alec Chang

The point system goes as follows: 1 point for each skill at basic level 2 points for each skill at superior level 1 point for abilities like '+1 bleed' or '+1 hand damage' or 'Prince' X points for other abilities -X points for some restrictions (like most caitiff restrictions). Some abilities appear to be worth frctional points (Primogen is worth 0.5, Justicar is worth 1.5). Add 'em up and you get the vampire's points. The factional part is usually rounded up, but not always. A vampire's capacity determines the number of points he can have: Capacity Points 1-4 Cap-1 5-8 Cap 9+ Cap+1 Examples: Lupo: skills: 1 points: 1 capacity: 2 Didi: skills: 5 points: 5 capacity: 5 Gilbert: skills: 6 abilities: 1 (Prince) points: 7 capacity: 7 Anneke: skills: 7 abilities: 1 (+1 bleed) 1.5 (Justicar) 1 (block)=3.5 points: 10.5 capacity: 10 Cardano: skills: 9 abilities: 1 (Prince) points: 10 capacity: 9 -- L. > The point system goes as follows: > 1 point for each skill at basic level > 2 points for each skill at superior level > 1 point for abilities like '+1 bleed' or '+1 hand damage' or 'Prince' Actually, I think that it's 2 points for +1 bleed or +1 hand damage, and 1 point for a title, no matter what it is. > X points for other abilities > -X points for some restrictions (like most caitiff restrictions). These are usually +1 and -1. If it is clan-specific, it can be +-0, +-0.5 or +-1. > Capacity Points > 1-4 Cap-1 > 5-8 Cap > 9+ Cap+1 > > Examples: > Lupo: skills: 1 points: 1 capacity: 2 > Didi: skills: 5 points: 5 capacity: 5 > Gilbert: skills: 6 abilities: 1 (Prince) points: 7 capacity: 7 So this would be: > Anneke: skills: 7 abilities: 2 (+1 bleed) 1 (Justicar) 1 (block) > points: 11 capacity: 10 (works out much nicer...) > Cardano: skills: 9 abilities: 1 (Prince) points: 10 capacity: 9 Other examples to illustrate my point: Ozmo: 4 pts. of abilities and +1 bleed: 4+2 = 6 = Capacity. Zack North: 4 pts. of abilities and +1 hand damage: 4+2 = 6 = Capacity Chandler Hungerford: 2 pts. of abilities and a +0 clan-spef. Joquina Amaya: 6 pts. of abilities and a +1 special. --James * James Hamblin * * Cornell University * * je...@cornell.edu *

(Note my difference of opinion on the Ian Forestal thread). However, my opinion on Ian Forestal stands, despite your Francois Villon example. Anvil, too, is underpriced (by 1) and some cards are slightly overpriced. Exceptions don't make the rule, and shouldn't be strived for. Ian is not slighty underpriced at all. If anything, he is _greatly_ underpriced. @ The Corrupter - Adrian Lee Sullivan @ GAT/CS/WS R+++* r(+)>++ # Gamer Coffee-Addict Scripter Author # C(+++)$ USX+$ N++ e+* @#$ Comments ? sull...@cslab.uwlax.edu $#@ tv(+)> X++ b++(+++) @#$ <http://cslab.uwlax.edu/~sulli_al/jyhad> $#@ PS+&-+ PE&-&++ z*+?
