My group has come up with an idea for something new. At the end of last night's session, we were each assigned a different clan to play with next week. Now we all have one week to develop a one-clan deck. Anyhow, I drew Toreador. I know this is a pretty good clan, but have never used them before. I'm thinking of a Celerity combat deck with some voting ability to give the Ventrue deck a bit of trouble, but am open to suggestions. Any ideas?

[ quoted text not captured ] Peace Nick, My Toreador deck is full of Aching Beauties, Respendent Protectors, Celerity Dodges/Presses, and Presence bleed mods. Bleed someone, if they block they still lose some pool and you can Dodge to avoid damage. Repeat as necessary. Nil carborundum illigitimi, James R. I find that the most effective Toreador deck is based on intercept, Celerity, and guns. Use .44s since you can use them more than once per combat (Blur=6 damage), plus they have the maneuver, so you can avoid damage yourself. Don't worry about Ventrue vote decks. If you can manage to be their predator or prey, you can intercept their votes easily, and as long as you don't get booted out of combat with Majesty, you can kick butt. Also include some Legal Manipulations and Social Charms, to give your prey an incentive to block you or to gain you some blood he is too fearful of your smoking firearms. SUMMARY: Intercept. Kill. -- Simeon ---------------------------- simeo...@bbs.fullcoll.edu

You should plop several Change of Targets into your deck. That way you can do this: bleed (he blocks because he doesn't want to lose the edge) ------->lose 1 pool Change of Target Enchant Kindred (he blocks) ------->lose 1 pool Change of Target Social Charm (he blocks) ------->lose 1 pool Change of Target Legal Manipulations (he blocks, groaning this time) ------->lose 1 pool Change of Target Total: 4 bleed This figure doubles if your vamp has Archon. -- Simeon ---------------------------- simeo...@bbs.fullcoll.edu

[ quoted text not captured ] This deck's not bad, but can you do that ? My point is that Change of target doesn't allow you to repeat the same action. Suurley all the above actions are basically bleeds only modified by a card (can't remember the exact rules as I haven't got a rule book with me). However a futher addition to a Toreador deck is a couple of Misdirections and Pulse of the Cannile (at superior). This will surley make sure than your opponent blocks (see above tactics). But combined with misdirections a few 3 point bleeds (and that's with no cards played) are really enjoyable. It's a bit expensive on pool, but hopefully they'll loose more than you. While it makes sense that any bleed qualifies as a bleed action, the DT has never seen it that way: ------ *** Rules Group answers to Jyhad questions, 9/23/94 *** 10) OK, so if Obedience is used, then the vampire which was blocked cannot perform the same action again that turn. - - -> Is each type of bleed considered a different action? Is each type of Bleed considered a different action? For example, if a vampire was blocked from Computer Hacking and Obedience was then used, would it be able to use Social Charm later that turn? A: Each type of Bleed is a different action. ----- Subject: DESIGN TEAM RULINGS: 5/9/95 Date: 9 May 1995 07:17:48 GMT 7) "Obedience says that the acting minion may not repeat the neutralized action later in the turn. What exactly counts as "the same action"? If encountering a vampire in torpor is neutralized this way, can I encounter some other vampire in torpor? If a Bum's Rush is neutralized this way, can I play another Bum's Rush?" Action cards may not be repeated this way, so that minion would not be able to Bum's Rush something else later that turn. The default actions provided by the game, and actions provided by cards in play, are considered distinct as long as you're choosing what gets affected. So a hunt or default bleed that was stopped by Obedience could not be attempted again later in the turn, but you could try to equip with a different piece of equipment, could try to burn a different Army of Rats, etc. All of this applies to Change Target as well. -- L. Wow,I must've missed that last one (about the change of targets). I'll have to give it some more thought. For the record, I went with major politics and ended up winning. Go fig. The main problem I found was that without stealth, my voting actions were emminently blockable. I often had to burn off a vote to use up my prey's blockers before I could use my KRC. I might try teaming them up with some superior Obf guysso I can Cloak them when necessary.
