I was wondering if people on this newsgroup are still arguing over a fix for Sudden Reversal. Is this true? A way to limit the power and versatility of SR is to make it unable to burn Master Locations. This way, cards like Arson, Bomb, Rampage, Unnatural Disaster, etc, do not become obsolete due to SR. I also read in Darkness Unveiled that there is a ruling that SR can only be used *immediately* after a master card is played, if you want to burn that card. My group was unaware of this ruling for the longest time. In light of this ruling, SR seems to be fair if you use the above-mentioned fix. Any input on this would be appreciated. ================== Personal Note: My news server has been off-line for the past 30 hours. It can only be used to cancel another Master card "as that Master card is played". Once the card is in play, Sudden Reversal cannot be used to remove it. >I also read in Darkness Unveiled that there is a ruling that SR can >only be used *immediately* after a master card is played, if you want >to burn that card. It seems redundant to the "immediately" ruling. (BTW, be careful using rulings from Darkness Unveiled - several of the rulings are patently incorrect - notably using "dodge" on a Burst of Sunlight or Grenade strike). --- L. It is a master counterspell. It can only be played in response to the master that it is cancelling being played. In addition all costs associated with the playing of the master that got cancelled are refunded. On account of the refund it is inferior to Arson, Bombs, and Unnatural Disaster if you want your opponent to spend his pool. Unnatural disaster can be played on locations that are not masters (loquipments as they are sometimes called) and does not refund the cost of the master that was played. Arson and Bombs do not require the waste of a master phase action, which some decks are tight and chincy on. and SR requires that the SR be in hand to play when the offending and soon to be cancelled master is played. You can also only ever play SR once per round of turns since you can ever only play one MooT per round of the table. Just some info. It's nice to play with a couple and I generally have one or two in my deck since you can always discard or burn them on somebodies elses master. Hope this Helps Stu

I also noticed other errors in Darkness Unveiled. Where can I get errata for Darkness Unveiled or just V:tES in general? Todd "Wookiee" Trimmer

These disadvantages are far greater than the one MooT ruler than applies to SR. The other point that someone on this newsgroup brought up was that there is no reason to NOT play with a SR, regardless of what type of deck you play. The card is just too universally applying and versatile. Todd "Wookiee" Trimmer
