No. They aren't covered by NRA, as they aren't actions, but they are covered by the rules on action modifiers and reaction cards--you may only play one of each particular action modifier or reaction per action--.i.e. only one Lost In Crowds per action; only 1 Enhanced Senses per re-action. Combat cards, however, are not so restricted, but are restricted by other rules--you can't use a manuver to cancel your own manuver, you can't press to cancel your own press, you can't prevent damage that isn't there, and you can only use 1 card per round to generate an additional strike. You can, however, stack multiple (non strike) combat cards as appropriate--you can play, say, 5 Increased Strength for +10 damage on any potence strike you make, and then Throw a Gate for 12 damage; you can use 3 different Unflinching Persistience to prevent 3 damage; you can play 4 Torn Signpost in a single round of combat (although it still won't do anything other than give you 3 hand damage). Combat cards have no such limitations (but there are other rules, like you cannot cancel your own presses or maneuvers, which limit their play) . NRA refers to actions only. Its a rule that says within a turn you may only bleed once, play a political action once, and act with an action card once, by name on the card (ie no multiple Bum's Rush. > 2. Classic uses for these clans Bru and !Bru: Rush combat. Multiple rush actions to attack the prey's vampires, lots of Potence and Cel, light Pre bleed to finish them off Ventrue make good voters, but are often suceptible to block. Keep Majesty and other untaps handy. Tremere, well... Ask Xian. Giovanni: Necro-stealth bleed with Seduction. Library manipulation (Carlotta), and Summon Soul for boosted hunting Ravnos: Its all about Gabrin. Keep the high cost Sense Deps to a minimum, and focus on their efficiency in combat (Trap-Carrion Crows- Apparition) and their efficiency as blockers (with Draba). Many Ravnos have dominate as a fourht discipline !Gangrel: good luck. We're all still working on making _them_ go well. check out www.thelasombra.com Decks, if you haven't already. Good luck! Ask Xian. Heh. As a general starting point for deckbuilding, you might check this out: http://www.waste.org/~xian/geek/jyhad/strategy/deckbuild.html That might cover all of the initial bases as well as what certain clans are good at. As for the Tremere specifically, I've had success playing bruise & bleed with them, and haven't had nearly as much luck playing intercept. However, the CE Tremere starter is a pretty fine deck for what it is. Xian

I knew bleed was non-repeatable. I knew you couldn't play the same card with the same minion twice per turn, even if you use different effects (such as Govern) Can a minion undertake only one political action per turn? Or can all of your minions only perform one of the same political action a turn? Or is it wrong to call a. say KRC, freak drive and play a different political? How about Hunt and Diablerie, just to name two actions that can be done without a card required. Can you undertake those multiple times? The rulebook doesn't mention those, so I suppose you can. Say, Muaziz attempts diablerie, gets blocked, sends in a gargoyle slave (un untaps as such), and tries to diablerize again. Is that legal? Blanche Hill hunts and untaps because it's succesfull and hunts again. Legal too?

Yes, everything of the above work =) you can also try to rescue vamps from torpor many times, so think about it if you'rea bout to block a vampire capable of majesty or earthmeld ;)

Or is >it wrong to call a. say KRC, freak drive and play a different political? each individual minion can only perform a political action once per turn. if they untap, they may not take any other political actions. it doesn't matter what they were called or whether they were froma card in play, card in hand, or other. but, regardless of what political action that minion took, your other minions are free to take the same action (by card in play or another card of the same name in hand or whatever), barring things like Delaying Tactics or 'once per game' political actions. >How about Hunt and Diablerie, just to name two actions that can be done >without a card required. (.....despite my assertion to lsj that the diablerie is provided by a card in play, being the torpored minion...but that's not the way it works :) salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm

Combat cards have no such limitations (but there > are other rules, like you cannot cancel your own presses or maneuvers, which > limit their play) This isn't quite clear. It's one copy of each reaction/action modifier card per minion per action. However almost all modifiers are only usable by the acting vampire -Cloak the Gathering being the obvious exception. You can play multiple C the Gathering if you have multiple untapped ready vampires with superior Obfuscate. Similarly you can play as many telepathic counters as you have untapped (or waked) vampires with auspex (but no more than one each). You can also play multiple different modifiers/reactions with one vampire -eg Wake + Precognition + Enhanced Senses. It's a fairly obviou clarification but you did say "newbie" so I thought I'd better make sure ;-)

I don't think that Kyoko's text gives an ability -merely modifies one that is inherent (ability to hunt). It would however be very silly indeed if she could hunt more than once a turn (and LSJ previously confirmed that she can't). Just being picky ;-)

Similarly you can play as many telepathic not sure where you got 'untapped' from. most standard action modifiers are played by tapped minions. you tap to announce your action. cloak the gathering has nothing requiring an untapped minion to play written on it, merely a ready one. you can play cloak the gathering with a tapped minion. at inferior, the tapped minion is the acting one. at superior, it's another ready minion you control. you can play it if you're untapped as well, though. :) [ quoted text not captured ]
