Hi! Two vampires are having af fight over who is the coolest dude in town, and vamp A(lets say for the sake of argument, Wynn) is being rushed by vamp B(Wynn´s good old friend, Beast). Beast hits Wynn for 2(which is not prevented), and Wynn hits beast for 3(which is not prevented). Now, can Beast play taste of Vitae ? Even though Wynn plays Disarm ? The Q being, can the acting minion play taste of vitae first even though they are going to be disarmed ? Kind Regards Michael

Just to clarify LSJ's answer: Beast can play Taste _before_ Wynn plays Disarm (since Beast his acting, that player gets to play cards first). He cannot play Taste _after_ Wynn plays Disarm (since he will no longer be ready). --Colin McGuigan

As the acting minion, Beast has the first opportunity to play cards that are usable at the end of a round of combat, meaning he can play Taste of Vitae before Wynn Disarms him. In fact, he could play as many end-of-round effects as he wanted before Wynn could play any (but only one ToV, by card text).

Taste of Vitae and Disarm are both played "At the end of a round of combat" (by card text). The acting minion always has the chance to play cards first (http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/rulebook/rulebook.html#sec6_4_1), so since Beast is acting he could play Taste and get some blood. He still took more damage than Wynn, though, so Wynn could then play Disarm. If Wynn was rushing Beast, then Wynn would get to Disarm first, and since Beast is then on his way to torpor he can't play Taste of Vitae (by card text). A quick groups search for "taste disarm author:lsj" turned up: http://groups.google.com/groups?threadm=b618d4f6.0407151859.26726f60%40posting.google.com&rnum=6
