Due to poor planning by a non-sport-fan coordinator (me), Crusade: Columbia fought against the home games of both USC and Clemson for attendees. As a result, the majority of local players were absent. Fortunately, players from Georgia and North Carolina came in to fill out the ranks. And win. The top finalist (7VPs) was Mike Perlmann, from Georgia, with a "Mostly Masters" deck. He got only one VP in the finals, however, to finish in 2nd place. Stu Pieloch, the second-place finalist (6VPs) and also from Georgia, won the finals by taking the other four VPs with his "Volker may I?" deck - which uses an Atoned and skill-laden Volker to block *everything* while voting (without using Presence) his prey out of the game. The other three finalist, in order, were: David Castles (GA), Stayce Hodge (NC), and Michael Parker (NC). No. It is a 60 card deck. > > >Mostly Masters > >-------------- > > This deck actually worked!? It made it to the finals, yes (1VP, 3VP, 3VP, resp. in the prelim. - all of which were four-player tables). -- L.
