Did anyone else notice that the VTES demo on the WW website is now out of date due to the updating of the card texts. I thought that it was funny that Protracted Investment has a cost of 3 and gives you 6 counters, since that hasn't been the effect since Camrilla was printed. -- Comments Welcome, Norman S. Yes, I noticed. >I thought that it was funny that Protracted Investment has a cost of 3 and >gives you 6 counters, since that hasn't been the effect since Camrilla was >printed. > It also says you don't replace cards during a referendum. I think we have to face the reality that Vtes will not receive any support* from White Wolf unless it is done on volunteer time, that is none of us have updated the demo so it will not be updated. *not including tournament support which costs the prince's money, nor does this statement include the Qualifier support which appears to be free and is pretty awesome. [ quoted text not captured ] I'm just guessing here, but I'd think that the existence of the VTES pages on White Wolf's webpage, including the graphic layout work, the forum there, the effort to preview cards with actual card images, the bandwidth and memory involved, etc etc is not actually entirely done on a volunteer basis (as opposed to being done by paid employees on company time.) Though it does raise the (completely for me) curiousity-based question of 'Does LSJ get paid for his efforts?' and 'Do the mythical design team members get paid anything?' (Also, note that while the online demo page has not been updated in ages, White Wolf _has_ supported the idea of demoing the game lately in a tangible form. As evidenced by the new demo decks with the special set-emblem on every card, for example.) -John Flournoy

I am an independent contractor. WW pays me for my design work, my net.rep work (answering a few questions here and there), and my work on the /vtes portion of the web page. Other designers are also compensated. The Rules Team (which is distinct from the design team, at least in principle) receives no additional compensation. Being mythical, though, they hardly have need for something as mundane as coin. :-) -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
