LSJ or anyone who isn't at Gen Con. Two weird interactions came up tonight. Don't know what happens. 1. Vampire with AUS calls a vote. Someone plays Vox Sennis (? the one that makes a vote fail automatically). Can the acting vampire play Telepathic Vote Counting to put the vote back in his hand after the Vox Sennis has been played? 2. The Baron is in a fight with Blythe Candeleria. Blythe strikes with Blood Fury. The Baron plays Ashes to Ashes at superior Thanatosis. a. Can Ashes to Ashes prevent the damage from the Blood Fury, as AtA may or may not be a card that requires fortitude when played at the THN level. b. If AtA cannot prevent the damage, what happens? Is the damage applied, vampire untaps, goes to torpor, gains 2 blood? Does the vampire untap, gain 2 blood, take the damage, go to torpor? Something else? Vox Domini ;-) > Can the acting vampire play Telepathic > Vote Counting to put the vote back in his hand after the Vox Sennis has been > played? I would say he or she can, because a referendum usually fails when you do not have enough votes to make it pass, in which case you are allowed to play Telepathic Vote Counting to put the political action card used in that referendum back in your hand. Vox Domini is another way to make a referendum fail. > 2. The Baron is in a fight with Blythe Candeleria. Blythe strikes with Blood > Fury. A card is considered to require a given discipline when it is played using that specific discipline. [...] Greetings, Damnans -- http://www.almadrava.net/damnans http://www.vtes.net

So, you can play it and the referendum is considered canceled and not failed. 2. Ashes to Ashes played at Thn level can prevent blood fury damage, because the rules say the following: Consider a multi-discipline card requiring discipline "A" or discipline "B", if you play it at discipline "A" level, then it is considered to be a card that requires discipline "A". For other purposes, except playing it, e.g. retrieval from Ash-heap, it is considered to require discipline "A" or discipline "B", whatever suits you. George.

Mmmm. Don't think so. TVC is played during a referendum; if the referendum has already failed, it's timing window has passed. During the referendum, it can be obvious that it's going to fail, but you can't wait until the referendum is actually over to play TVC. --Colin McGuigan
