Okay... Can you help me with these that came up in a game... Vicissitude combat cards (Fleshcraft and Bonecraft)... My opponent plays these cards, they hit. I prevent the damage with Skin of Steel. Do the other effects on these cards still happen? Reform body... Dragos (with superior Vic.)gets Diablerised by Salbatore Bokkengro. Dragos plays Reform body and thus gains 2 blood. Is this legal? Is Diablerie sucessful? Combat... Does it reset to close range after every round? V:tES Hawg... Press every ROUND of combat? ("Tell me it ain't so!") TIA, -- Lupo

Do the other effects on these cards still happen? Yes. All skin of steel does is prevent damage. It doesn't stop the effects of a card (although, for most strikes, we know that that's more or less the same thing most of the time because most strikes only do damage and nothing else). > >Reform body... >Dragos (with superior Vic.)gets Diablerised by Salbatore Bokkengro. >Dragos plays Reform body and thus gains 2 blood. Is this legal? Is >Diablerie sucessful? Well, first of all, Dragos would have to be being diablerised whilst in combat (Reform Body isn't combat OR reaction - it's both and both criteria must be met). Diablerie counts as burning so if Dragos was being diablerised in combat by Sal Bok, he could play it and it would be legal. > >Combat... >Does it reset to close range after every round? > Yes. Every round starts at close and requires maneuvers or range- setting effects to move it. >V:tES Hawg... >Press every ROUND of combat? ("Tell me it ain't so!") > No - one per combat (*sighs with relief*). But one press is all it takes for that Tremere deck to rip you apart. :< >TIA, >-- >Lupo -- James Coupe (remove items of clothing to reply) I shall personally come around to your houses and drag you out by the scruff of the neck. I shall belt you around the mouth and mouth you around the belt. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Do the other effects on these cards still happen? Yes. Preventing damage is not the same as cancelling the effect of the strike. For the latter, try Dodge. > Reform body... > Dragos (with superior Vic.)gets Diablerised by Salbatore Bokkengro. > Dragos plays Reform body and thus gains 2 blood. Is this legal? Is > Diablerie sucessful? If he can play it (i.e., he's in combat and is not the acting vampire), then, yes, it's legal. The diablerie is then unsuccessful. From the Rulings summary: * If the vampire playing Reform Body was being diablerized, but saved himself with Reform Body, the diablerie is considered unsuccessful. The diabolist gets nothing from the victim, and no Blood/Wild Hunt can be called. > Combat... > Does it reset to close range after every round? Combat * Each round of combat begins at close range (errata to VtES rulebook). > V:tES Hawg... > Press every ROUND of combat? ("Tell me it ain't so!") Hawg - Equipment, Vehicle * Grants one (optional) Press each combat, not each turn (Jyhad) nor each round (VtES). -- L.
