Got to be the stupidest questions ever...

But... Lets say a Brujah anti with fortitude bleeds... Get's blocked... Plays Dawn op... Still get's blocked... He then play Blood Brother ambush... Is the combat with the blood brother ambush aggravated? I would say yes... The result combat is with the Blood brother ambush, card states taht combat does not happen with the acting vampire at all... Blood Brother Ambush Type: Action Modifier Requires: Brujah antitribu Cost: 2 blood Only usable when an action is blocked. Combat does not occur. Put this card into play. While in play, this card represents an ally with 3 life and 2 strength who can strike for 2R damage; this ally enters combat with the blocking minion. Blood Brothers may play cards requiring basic Potence as a vampire with a capacity of 3. Any cost in blood is paid with life. If a card would give them blood, give them life instead. Burn this card at the end of combat or if the combat is canceled. Dawn Operation Type: Action Modifier Requires: Fortitude [for] If this action is blocked, all damage inflicted to all vampires in the resulting combat is aggravated. Any vampire attempting to block may now choose not to block. [FOR] As above, but vampires attempting to block cannot back out. Ok, it's far fetched I know... Only 2 Brujah and Mata can do this combo from the get go... But hell, it's a combo that's stupid and repeatable! Just the way I like it... =)

I think the second part is right, but I don't see how you get "yes" from it. "Resulting combat" refers to the combat that occurs between the blocking minion and acting minion. Cards that change one of these minions that say they "cancel that combat" (like Malleable Visage) or "combat does not occur" (like BB Ambush) necessarily start a combat that isn't "resulting," so effects like Dawn Op no longer apply. At least by my reading.

This is how I read it as... The resulting combat would mean the combat that would follow after the block. Normally that would be with the acting minion, and blocking minion... But in this case, the Blood Brother Ambush text overrides that. (I think the only card that does override it, I might be wrong) It says "Combat does not occur" between the acting vampire and blocking minion, but instead a combat with ally. In my twisted world, won't that be the resulting combat? Combat has not been cancelled, the only combat is with the blocking minion and the blood brother ambush... The gargoyle slave rule does apply because it cancels the combat. (Read insert below), but the blood brother ambush states there is no combat. It's a stupid idea anyhow... But just to defend my line of thinking... No. Slave rule: "cancel the combat". [BL 3.9] -- LSJ (vtes...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. [ quoted text not captured ] My take on it would be that the combat in which the Dawn Op's effects would come into effect is ended by the BBA card. The BBA -> Blocking minion combat is a completely new combat. Cheers James
