trap question [LSJ]

Trap [Jyhad, V:TES, Sabbat, SW] Cardtype: Combat Only usable before range is determined on the first round of combat. During the press step, if any Methuselah has played a card earlier in the current round or during the two previous rounds, the Trap automatically provides a press to continue (either combatant can press to end). this seems trivial but still i need to know. trap is played and no other cards. does the combat last for 3 rounds or 4? in other words, does trap count towards the "card played.." thing or not? thanks for the help pallando
