(1) Can Dreams of the Sphinx be tapped when it is not your turn to increase your hand size by 2? We have ruled that it can be. (2) If a vampire with no blood has Society of Leopold on him during untap, is he burned? The card (Jyhad version) reads that the vampire loses 1 blood or is burned, Methuselah's choice. If the vampire cannot lose 1 blood because he has none to lose, does that mean he is automatically burned? I would say, "Yes, that vampire is kindling." (3) I thought of a cute combo today. The two cards involved are Might of the Camarilla and Redeem the Lost Soul. Might of the Camarilla forces everyone to burn a vampire in their inactive region if the vote is successful. Assume that the vampire burned has a capacity of 10 or 11. Next turn, you play Redeem the Lost Soul for a blood gain of 5! Anyway, that was my Jyhad/Vampire rambling for the day... ====================================================================== Dave Hyatt http://www.shadowland.org/vampire/

One or the other, losing one blood or being burned, must take place, and if one is impossible, the other must happen. It's fairly useless, otherwise, and not nearly as much fun. :) Other effects, such as hunting grounds, may give a vampire blood before you must choose, of course, to keep it from being burned. : ====================================================================== : Dave Hyatt : http://www.shadowland.org/vampire/ -Wallpaper Paste for all those useless cards

If you had a Hunting Ground in play, you could use it to give the victim a blood before dealing with Leopold's effect. -- L. A knee jerk reation tells me, yes, that's legal... but then I reread the card. The sentence in question is: "Tap this card to draw two cards and increase your hand size by two until the end of your turn" This sentence seems to indicate that you can only do this DURING your turn, so that you can put the cards back at the end of your turn. So no, I don't think you can tap it whenever you want... only during your turn. If you could tap it whenever you wanted, you could get an increase of four cards, as in: "Tap it just before my turn begins to get two cards. Untap as normal at the beginning of my turn, and I keep the two cards 'cuz my turn hasn't ended yet. Tap it again to get two more. Return all four at the end of my turn." Again, _I_ think (feel free to wait for a ruling) that the modifying text "...until the end of your turn" indicates that it can only be done during your turn. : (2) If a vampire with no blood has Society of Leopold on him during : untap, is he burned? Not sure here... typically, if you can't burn blood that you are supposed to, you just ignore the effect. Not sure how it applies to the Society... : (3) I thought of a cute combo today. Assume : that the vampire burned has a capacity of 10 or 11. I only have the spoiler list to go by, so here's a question: does Might of the Cam. burn ACTIVE or INACTIVE vampires? The spoiler list indicates active... but otherwise it seems reasonable. And if it is an "active" vampire (and not just a random empty big inactive one) then you probably won't be getting anything for free because of any pool that you invested making it active in the first place. -spongy

Always tap it just as your prey's turn begins and have +2 hand size at all times (except you'd have to discard 2 and then redraw at the end of your turn).
