Correct.
BTW, the "Do Not Replace" is a specific case - inherent stealth
(Atonement, e.g.) and general requirements (Monomancy, e.g.) also
apply, naturally enough, before the action resolves. You can
identify this type of text because it is bold and at the start
of the text area.

You play the card and tap the acting minion and announce the action.
If the action is successul, you apply the results: your prey (or
whomever the action got bounced to) burns a pool and taps one of
his or her ready untapped minions.
